this is where it all started, with babygro's first response.Being rude and making some one feel so dumb like they can't do something with there limited knowledge, the thread didn't ask for some one to downgrade and tell someone they are stupid, babygro could have posted info on making feminized seeds, instead of making someone feel stupid and telling them they will only be able to produce hermies ,that is really mean..why be such a dick?
There are many techniques for making "feminized seeds" Soma has a great technique in his book using "rodelization", but I guess Soma is just a dumb ass too......

however, hermies make hermies. if you know what you're doing, but you have a plant with hermie traits, and YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT, you just made a whole batch of hermies. if you pass them around, and they are grown, and in turn bred, or crossed, you will have passed hermies.
hermies are a bane to the world of breeding. i am against fem beans, no matter who they came from. sure, i've grow fem beans, but the majority of the herm issues i've had stemmed from there. plain jane beans give me plenty of females, and i have found several from regular stock that simply refuse to herm, no matter what you put them through. i still won't self them, i'll get an appropriate male and make regular beans.

I would never buy fem beanz or waste my time growing them, all I meant is if someone asks how to make them we should tell them how it's done by the pros...not shoot them down right away...to each his own...some people do buy fem seeds and may want to learn how to produce them at home,....I'm a strong believer in never saying can't so to tell someone they can't because they are not good enough is pretty mean to me, all the guy wanted to know is how it's done, I THINK IT'S A DECENT QUESTION WORTHY OF AN ANSWER, and the answer is yes, if you want to do the work and put in the time and do the research it IS possible to create "quality" fem seeds at home quality being a relative term,relative to me being feminized put's them on the list of bad quality, feminized seeds are created from stress and they all have hermie tendencies even if minute, as a breeder this is a no no to me and I would never even read the description or look at fem seeds, but we need to push people too try things not tell them it isn't possible..

I agree the post deserves an answer, and the tone of the reply counts for something. So far as using femenized seeds....it does matter who made them, true.
However price shouldnt be a deterrent to buy some, its really no more expensive than regular seeds, once you include the price of the males that you had to grow, feed and throw away.
I'll also tell you that, there IS a difference in phenotype, this is something I've observed, as well as read, meaning that if using fem seeds from a source such as DP, those femenized seeds produce a stronger/better plant, than one grown from regular seeds.
It's all in the genes.

i'm going to step out of this, it's not my place, as i'm not involved. all i will say is that there are better things to get angry at than a face behind a screen that you'll never ever see... if you see a post you don't like, ignore it. much less fighting and arguing that way, imo.
i'm just trying to get some peace back... i wish i could sit you all down over here around a campfire and get you stoned out of your minds so you would stop fighting each other.

I'm on my first grow and still learning. I just ordered from bcseedking and will receive some free fem BC Buddha. What do you think the quality of those will be
On the hermie issue, I'm using bag seed on this grow, mostly sativas.
I started abunch of seeds. When I put the first eight to flower, I had 75% male. When I chose the ones to flower, I picked tallest of the bunch.
Now the ones left at 12 weeks in veg have the same percentage showing what appears to be male and female characteristics. As in the flowering stage, the males/hermies appear to be showing first and are larger and healthier.
So, am I correct in assuming,
1. They were hermie seeds since the came out of a bags that I bought.
2. That most likely, what I thought were males in flowering would have turned hermie later.
If this is correct, that would semi-confirm the no male theory. I also think that high percentage of hermies would show it's not that easy to feminze seeds.
I know this is a very limited experiment and in no way scientific, but I thought it was interesting.
I also cloned one of the females of which I have two now flowering and at almost two weeks, cleary female. I have two more in veg and will see in a few months if they stay stable.
