Man I wish it would hit 60 up here. Its coming but not for a while yet. 12/12 will be great. The little bitches will grow like hell. I may be chopping 2 main colas off of one of my plants tomorrow. It sucks because I forgot to pick up a scale and now I'll have no idea of the weight of it. They are about the same size as the ones in your other thread. How many grams per cola did you end up with? I need a good scale cheap real soon. Keep it up.

the girls are looking good today, the warmest it has been in a few days. the high 60's. a few of the lower leaves have like a rust look to them. i'm guessing a ph problem. i will check the ph of the run off water when i feed tonight. a few of the larger fan leaves turned purple. i'm going to say that was from staying in the low 50's for the last few days. other than that they look beautiful. i'll get some pics up tonight.

Yeah most likely. If there is any sitting around and our eyes meet and she gives me that look... I will probably hang on to a bit just to celebrate my first time. I need to get rid of enough to get myself a new washing machine. Old one sprung a leak.

Hey Kev, do you know the flowering times for the papaya and kush?

I just wonder because I started mine on flowering yesterday. Flower time 8-9 weeks on the Hindu Skunk I got. Anyhow, we might be progressing at the same time through flowering, and for me that would be great to compare. I know we have different set ups and strains, but this is my first time and seeing day by day progress from someone who knows what they are doing should be invaluable.

No shit. That is the very first thing on my 'harvest' list. A damn washing machine. I think paying medical bills is about the only thing less fun to spend money on.

hey jigfresh, the flowering time is right at the 8 or 9 weeks for the papaya, not sure about the kush. my last grow they flowered almost 3 full months, but i let them dry up and it set them back hard.

the lights went off for the first time this morning, an easy day to remember. the day before st.patty

tonight when the lights came on i was there with water phed to 6.5, the run off was 5.1. that is where those rusty looking leaves are coming from. i will flush them in the morning until i get the 6.5 that i am looking for. i've had 4 grows so far, all using the same soil, nutes, everything? will the cold cause a drop in ph?

pH Fluctuation

Both of these leaves in figure 3 and figure 4 are from the same plant. It could be over fertilization, but more likely it is due to the pH being off. Too high or too low a pH can lock up nutrients in the form of undisolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants. What then happens is the grower then tries to supplement the plants diet by adding more fertilizers, throwing off the pH even more and locking up even more nutrients. This type of problem is seen more often in soil mixes, where inconsistent mixing of the medium's components leads to "hot" spots.

this morning i flushed my plants, one of them had a ph of 4.5 for run off. using the miricale grow i hate flushing. hope i didn't nute burn them.

Thats odd. Hopefully it straightens out and doesn't burn too bad. It worked fine for you before with the same plant so I wonder what is going on. I hear a lot of people saying that ph isn't really an issue with soil grows but a runoff of 4.5 sounds a little too acidic. who knows.

My guess would be like it says in the info you cut and pasted, about the medium not being mixed well enough. I'm imagining a 'lump' of nutrients stuck together somewhere under the surface jacking things up. Sorry I can't help more.

it has been 5 hours since i flushed the plants, they look tired, droopy and beat down. i noticed some of vegtable plants are showing signs of ph problems. could that water company be putting something in to cause a swing?

i don't have a clue to what caused my ph problems. this was the first time i checked the run off, but then again i never check the run off until i see a problem. that will change, the run off will be checked everytime now. more experience the hard way.

i took the 4 small kushes and just have them sitting in the back yard catching some mother nature, they aren't showing any signs of ph problems but they had a run off in the low 5's.

the papaya are back in the closet, they are looking perky. it looks like just the 2 lowest and largest fan leaves will be effected. i'm glad i caught it early.

sorry about not posting pics, it was kind of crowded in the closet and the pics were coming out bad, and when i had them out today i had all this other stuff on my mind. i'll get some up in the a.m.

Yea some more pics will be cool. I was curious about your drying of your Papaya. I hung it up and keep checking on it and it isn't getting the "smell" yet. It makes your hands smell when you move it around but the smell of the bud is like grass. Not real bad but enough to make me worry. Any clues.
