Hey Tilemaster, long time no post? Well I am very happy today! I see one of 4 of my Violater Kush is coming up. Hopeing by the time I get home I will see all up + my 3 NY Specials.Sup Ganja13, Mygirls, SimpsonSampson4.2.0: hows everybody holdn up in here? I heard 20/4 is actually the shit, lets start this all over again
hell always.when im not hunting im thinking hunting.LOLgot that buck fever already huh
really? wow, and here i thought plants had FUCKING LEAVES!!!!!! so that shade stuff is really light?!?oh no youjust did not say what i think you said. um if the roots grow out into the drain pan that means they are in the light.
im notpicking on you bro,i was just saying from my expence.isn'tthat what this site is all about to share are experences.sorry if you took it the wrong way.really? wow, and here i thought plants had FUCKING LEAVES!!!!!! so that shade stuff is really light?!?
wow, you're really smart! come back and pick on me in 20 years, then we might be able to actually have a REAL debate.
its nice and all but i am burned out a tad bit.what up tilemaster... not that youll likely see this any time soon.. but shout out anyways...
so 20/4 is the new 24/0 huh?? sounds trendy enough... i think itll take... i mean if 30 can be the new 20 why cant 20/4 be the new 24/0?? but really... is this something real or was it just to stir the pot a little??
KP2... bro... we are all stoners here... pot lovin, weed smoking, bong rippin, blunt rolling, joint tokin brothas (and some sisters) from a buncha different mothers... its surprising enough any of us can get mad enough fight at all... but such anger... i suggest you smoke some bud and relax... really.. theres no reason anyone on here should get that upset... i mean.. fuck.. its just talkin about weed... i mean no one wants to be wrong... and everyone wants to prove their point... but temper tantrums arent cool... they are funnier than fuck to read tho....
im jealous mygirls... i dont have a beach remotely close to me... closest place that has a beach is a bullshit theme park with sand... one of those places you hear about where the rollercoaster comes off the tracks, killing a church group and a buncha kids.. i thought about putting a plastic pool, a blow up palm tree, and some sand in this extra room i have so i can pretend i have a beach.. but that will just disappoint me further... lol
is that why you also argued with me about proper pruning technique in sog/flower?I do not spout off what I have heard, I go from experience and Knowledge of plant growth, (simple Botany). I fix gardens for MMJ card holders. And some of the most common mistakes I come across is pots full of holes like all over the pot up the side and such, also pots that light can penetrate, not to mention plants going into 12/12 before mature. Once I straighten everything out and there yeild is 3-4x greater, then they understand that with optimal conditions you will yeild more than just soing things that work.
I am not trying to start a pissing contest with anyone, I just share what I know and what works for me when fixing others short comings.
ROFLAO I'm calling BS. Read the facts.is that why you also argued with me about proper pruning technique in sog/flower?
i also speak from experience. i'm a breeder, sitting on 6 strains, 4 home made ibls. been doing this stuff for quite a while. i speak from experience, as every book i've read on the subject of pot either has plain fallacies, or is inaccurate at best. light killing roots does occur, but not as dramatically as you think. if the medium and root zone is moist, roots can actually harden and become silimar to the trunk of the plant.
here's a good example. i do a lot of perlite beds. perlite is white. if light kills roots, why does the perlite work better than soil? it's white, lots of light getting to those roots!
how about trees? ever seen roots jutting out of the ground?
ever dug up a bush to be replanted? why didn't the roots die? they were exposed to light!!!!
experience is great, but never believe you know everything. ie, i've been doing this for more than 20 years, and i'm still trying new things, reading new articles, trying new products... the learning game never ends.
but calling bullshit should only be done WHEN YOU KNOW YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. don't guess, if you're unsure, or even think you're sure, but no positive... don't reply.
not agruing but i have had exposed roots on top of my soil on the big mother of a plant i just took down and got almost a pound off her. that was an experament. i am going to do it once again.ROFLAO I'm calling BS. Read the facts.
Just because you pull a bush out of the ground and expose it to a few hrs of light and it does not die does not mean it enjoy it, Durrr.
Tree's they come out of the ground looking for water most of the time, but there are those odd trees out there that have standing roots above ground. One thing you don't see on them is the root hairs, they died from the light, lol.
Gonna call more BS on perlite being better than soil. Perlite does not glow in the soil and growers put it on top to reflect light ( I do not ) (no roots on top of soil).
You are the one being over dramatic about all this, I just simpley wrote the facts and backed it up. https://growguide.opengrow.com/Transport_and_Logistics_Inside_the_Marijuana_Plant
This is what it says about roots (Roots dont like light at all. Micro-organisms that live in the root-zone also dont like light. Organic substrates have a natural dark colour, so the root-zone is also dark. Inert substrates are often packed in plastic material, which does not let through the light.)
When you are useing aeroponics and such you are giving both air and water, keeping roots in a happy medium. When you are in soil and you have air running down the crack of your pot where soil has dryed away from pot, the roots will turn green. Thats unhealthy. Sure the plant will still grow, just like if you go 12/12 from seed. But are those optimal conditions? Nope.
Sounds like you are doing more things right and to the best conditions than wrong and sub par conditions.not agruing but i have had exposed roots on top of my soil on the big mother of a plant i just took down and got almost a pound off her. that was an experament. i am going to do it once again.
aslong as the roots don'tdry the light will not hut them. this is not a pot plant but it has been like this nowforalmost a year in this glarr jar in the window seal with ligh on the roots .ROFLAO I'm calling BS. Read the facts.

damit bro don't scare me i thought mine where bad.Air will turn them green. As for lights I understand where your coming from, being you have good harvest. But I myself stick with the facts and grow from there. Every book I have read and every website says the same thing about roots.
You have great harvest, thats awesome. I believe you know what you are doing. Of course we all will have different opinons in the garden, lol thats why no matter how big your garden is there's only room for one Gardner.damit bro don't scare me i thought mine where bad.

thank you and you also bro. yes sir you said it bro. ya its really not hard to put a plant in soil and watch it grow, its what we do as experienced growers that make for a beautiful plants with great yields, and their are many ways to achieve that in books or not. we all are still tweaking grows to maximize are yields. in time things change and so do produces, along with the climent troughtout the world. this all plays factores on a very productive grow. i belive that if we all were still liveing in the 50's and 60's then all the avalibale imormation is good but as for 2day myself i through most allthat imfoout the window as that imfo pretty much pertained to steath growing, not for the growers that have windows open ,lights beaming out the windows. You have great harvest, that's awesome. I believe you know what you are doing. Of course we all will have different opinions in the garden, lol that's why no matter how big your garden is there's only room for one Gardner.
You know what the beauty of open threads are? They can lead to other topics.this is true, as i said. however, it's not the end all plague as you tried to make it out in earlier posts. light hitting roots in a drain pan is no issue, and i can take pictures tonight of plants that have exposed roots in a drainage flat, with 2kw above. pretty white roots too... o.0 wow, fucking impossible, huh?
and you're still off topic. this thread is about lighting times, not exposure to roots. why can't you understand that? is it because you're too embarrassed to admit you were wrong with your first post in this thread? because you called me a bs artist after i taught you something new two days ago in a thread about pruning?
i don't make shit up, i just grow pot for a living. the chances of someone having an IDEAL indoor setup is not all that likely. no indoor rooms are perfect, they're just close enough. as for losing a few root hairs, i don't see an issue when you're pulling gallon jug sized colas from a sog.
and yes, perlite IS better than soil, hydroponic mediums always are. if you don't believe me run any soil plant vs any hydro gro and see the end weights. soil indoors is a waste of time.
once again, in relation to the topic at hand, light = photosynthesis. no light = no photosynthesis. roots are a product of plant growth (photosynthesis). therefore, a dark period means less roots than 24 hour lighting.
FACT.
and that's all that needs to be said in this thread. argue this one all you want, but if you do, you are wrong.
