First time lighting question. Is this a good deal?

Is t5 ballast with 4 slots, comes with 4 red and 4 blue tubes, and a 250 watt hps, all for $275 a good price? The guy says it is enough for about 10 plants, is that correct? Is there anything else I would need lighting wise and how much cooling does a 250 watt hps require? Thanks in advance

Good deal.. 4 x T = $199.00 then the red bulbs are $20.00+ each... a 250w HPS is about $100.00+... I use a 430 HPS in a 22" x 20" x 5ft SMALL closet...2-3 three full size plants/6 auto's and all I use is one 18" fan... no holes... granted I can't use HPS inside during summer so I'll use T's for summer grow...
if you do get it..I'd buy a new HPS bulb $40.00 approx, and keep that one as a spare as HPS have a lifespan and you may be near the end of yours... Luck...

for $20 more I can get a bunch of 150 watt energy saver bulbs and a few (atleast 2) lamps. Should I get that aswell?

the more light you can get the better off you'll be as long as you can control the heat...
