Okay, what is this issue about the greenhouse seeds? You've mentioned a couple of times that there is some coating on them. What is that all about? Not that I'm considering purchasing them--based on what you say, uh, no way. But what is with this coating?

BTW, that is great advice you gave me long ago about cracking the seed yourself. You mentioned that here, but you left out the part about doing it with your teeth. I tried it. It worked very well. Just thought I would toss that in for the lurkers you mentioned. If the seeds are not germinating, use your teeth gently and crack them. DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE. I've seen that on here somewhere. Nope, that will cut it too deeply.

Yeah I actually used my teeth on the greenhouse seeds. thats kinda secret tech that I don't share with too many people. If I started telling people here a bunch of people would be crunching on their seeds trying to get them to germinate faster.

It is very delicate as you know LG, you have to put just enough pressure along the seam of the seed casing with your teeth until it pops open just a little.

Here is my experience with Greenhouse:

1. Ordered about 20 Arajan's Haze #1 last year, planted them out doors lost a bunch of plants to the elements and such. The surviving plants yeiled me 12.5 lbs. I was happy with it.
2. Ordered trainwreck seeds from attitude, ended up getting a trainwreck cross called K-train. Only three seeds out of ten germinated and then all but one slowly died. It was lame to say the least.
3. Ordered this Indica pack from greenhouse with a bunch of different strains. They put this new colored coating on the seeds to identify which strain they are. It's supposed to be anti-fungal and promote germination. It's too thick and just chokes the seeds, they did not germ until I washed it off and cracked the casing. So far those two greenhouse strains look great though (trainwreck, White Rhino).

So that is my no bullshit story on Greenhouse, I think if you ordered from them you should wash the stupid coating off before trying to germinate them.

PS- The most viable seeds I've gotten this far were Killawatt from Seedism, they germed within 12 hours.

All the Greenhouse seeds I ordered were from attitude. I have no qualms with Attitude, though they did send the wrong seeds that one time. I think they had just run out though but already processed my order before updating the website. Just a day later I went on and it said TrainWreck seeds were sold out. I did get some smoke out of that one K-train and it was pretty decent.

Plus all the freebies from attitude rock.

Day 14

Changed all the reservoir out today, their was some scum in them too. Found out that my Ph pen has been off the whole time I picked up a new one today. I also raised the water level on all the reservoirs b/c the roots were getting a little too dry up top.

Here are the stats:

Res #1: PPM: 538
Ph: 5.8
60ml Hygrozyme
120 ml Ionic Grow
1ml Superthrive

Res#2: PPM: 539
Ph: 5.76
60ml Hygrozyme
140 ml Ionic Grow
1ml Superthive

Res#3: PPM: 535
Ph: 5.8
60ml Hygrozyme
130ml Ionic Grow
1ml Superthrive

I posted some pics, the trainwreck stretched a bit and so did one of the satori's. There is a little tip burn from drying and the Ph being too high. You can see how they were stunted by comparing with the six MG soil plants that are taking off now.

Lessons learned:
1. Fill the rez more for small seedlings
2. Don't step on your Ph pen
3. Wash the stupid coating off greenhouse seeds

I just noticed my hairy legs in that pic. Sorry guys I was tired and water is heavy, I need to get a garden hose attachment for my faucet and a small pump to drain the reservoirs while they are still in the grow room.

Re-adjusted my Ph back to 5.5 today, have a little build up the reservoir. I added 20ml Hygrozyme to each res and 2ml Physan 20 to make sure any baddies are killed. I expect more Ph rise as the additional hygrozyme breaks down and organic matter in the res. Just going to watch it and adjust as needed if conditions get worse I'll change out Res #2 and disinfect with Physan 20.

The Ph rise has slowed and the slime has come off the roots for the most part. I treated with 1ml more of Physan 20 in each reservoir to make sure all the baddies are dead. Growth is steady on all the plants, I've decided to keep the Killawatt I have in soil as a mother she is a very nice looking plant.
I'm really happy with Killawatt, very strong growth and resilient plants. I also off-loaded the two soil dwarfs.

I have not updated in a while . . . . things have been hectic. All these plants are going to become mothers minus the dwarf. I'm going to need quite a few cuttings. Building a vertical co-co coir system right now.

I'm going to install drip lines on a my tubs I also upgraded to a larger air-pump (600 gph). The foggers I ordered are too small for my tub size. I'll post links and pictures when I get the chance as construction begins.

Thanks Kilo, yeah this one is going to be big and there is no room for error. 2k HPS and possibly over 100 plants. Still installing the shelves and such, I will definitely check out that journal. I've been reading but have never used Coco . . .

Been out for a bit stealing the neighbors internet right now. Not been able to update this thread for a bit. Everything has been moved around and now I'm building a vertical coco-coir grow using Killawatt cuttings. These poor plants in the tubs have been moved to new locations 3 times now. I vegged them way to long because a veg light I ordered came with a broken bulb. Now they area all tied to this make-shift tent. So they are a little taller than I wanted and as a result of all this neglect a moving some are a little light deprived. I'm training them all as well. The train wreck and Killawatt in the left tub are about four feet tall and the shots I have are about a week old. The right tub is satori. The two plants in the middle are huge satori's in five gallon buckets that were outside for part of the season. Second pic is a huge satori leaf, last pic is Trainwreck at two weeks, this plant is very big it's difficult to photograph in there because its so packed with plants. They are about 3.5-4 weeks into flower now but these are the most current pics I have.

It is near completion now, I just need to install shelves. Reservoir, possibly a drip system and I ordered a water cooling "ice-box" for my light. The picture of the light is old, I had it retro-fitted for about a week while I was waiting for delivery of 465 CFM dayton blower that currently cools the light. It is a 5ft vertical glass tube with 2 1000w HPS bulbs in it.
