First Grow- Kali Mist+.. Check it..Peace.

Hello all. This is my first grow. I am growing Kali Mist from Serious Seeds along with some others they sent me.

I just began germination today. Put them in between damp paper towels.

After they sprout I plan on putting them directly into 3 gallon pots with Fox Farm soil.

I am going to be using a 1000w MH and HPS for the grow. Can I start them with this light or should I get some cfls's to begin them on?

Check out my last grow journal in my signature. I harvested several O'z of KM and lemme tell you it's some bad ass shite :hump: Be prepared for a looooooooong flowering period.
If you grow this correctly, you will totally fall in love with everything about this strain. The smell it omits is unexplainable....totally awesome!

Dude, are you prepared to grow 14 plants? Kali Mist are sativas and freakin take off during flowering. I had a 50/50 ratio with my seeds and I only grew out 2 females out of the 4 seeds. You will at least have 5-6 KM's plus the 3 freebees which I think are from "the tude" and are fem seeds. You're looking at growing out 10 or more plants. Thats a tall order and those Kalis are $$$ and are well worth it.

nice little set up you got there.but i would take down that mylar its been proven that reflective white gives off more light,but to tell you the truth i think cfls are very good for begging plants(speaking from experience)i had a bunch of plants sprouted in some organic dirt and watered with some fish emulsion ,and the leaves were so dense,thick and had such a rich green color to them,lil fuckers looked like some cabbage.maybe do that just to get them started ,but a 1000 watt will def do the trick also

All the seeds are fems, so hopefully have 14 plants. I am thinking about switching to flowering a bit early if I am going to run into space issues with all the plants.

What makes you say its a tall order?

Ya, heard good stuff about starting off with the cfls, but I think I will just use my 1000 since I have it. Would drop the money on cfls if 1000 wouldnt work but trying to not spend any more money.

Thanks for the mylar advice, I'll look into it.

Serious seeds doesnt make fem versions of their seeds. If you got fem kali mist then they are imposters. Where did you get them?

14 plants is alot...but if your good with it thats cool. I just know from reading on here alot that a good number of people think they can grow alot of plants but really dont have the facility to care for more than a few at most.

They are fems from Attitude seed bank...my mistake. :-?

Hopefully I didn't get had and they are actually fems..

Attitude only sells the regular seeds that come from the breeder....and thats what you got. I see you germ'd all 11 seeds and i'm willing to bet you will have at least 6 fems. My Kali's showed about 7-10 days after switching to 12/12.

I feel kinda jipped. Oh well, I will be happy with even one fem. Really looking forward to this first grow.

Just waiting for them to sprout then going to put them into Foxfarms original soil in 3 gallon pots.

I'm assuming soil should be kept pretty moist for the first few weeks.

Alright, well to my surprise this afternoon, 7 of the seeds were already germinated with taproots just over 1/2". I watered the soil and got it moist, and then put in the seeds about 1/2" under. Covered them with some plastic wrap and have the light on for heat.

Temp is at 70 and humidity is at 48

Make sure you have a few holes in that saran wrap for air ventilation. Just a couple....enough to not make it too humid under there.

Quick update.

Just been putting the seeds in soil as they have germinated. Some of them have begun to sprout.

How moist should the soil be? I have just been spraying it with a spray bottle as the top of the soil begins to show dry spots.

Bro. We are doing the exact same grow. All my beans popped, but I killed the super skunk fem by accident. I have 13 half gallon pots under a 400 watt lamp. My grow room is not totally set up yet but I want to sex them first, grow out my kali's under scrog 2x600 lumatek adjustawings, then once I get two clones of the blue venom, and gold, I am going to plant those babies in the woods for an outdoor guerilla grow. My plants are between 2 and 6 inches tall right now. They are three and a half weeks from seed.

Alright. Update.

So far just been keeping them watered and letting them grow. All of the seeds have sprouted now.

How is the distance on that light? I can probably get it closer if I need to and turn the fan higher to keep it cool.
