I am alive....well kind of. Got the flu real bad and was just laid out for a week....To top it all off I am trying to secure a new building for a business I run......I have had no spare time.
The aero/knockoff works great, 4 to 5 days and roots start to show, simple, no misting or domes.....I love it. As for the bulb.....I am just perplexed. Literally half of the 16 plants I put in are finishing off.....they were all under the HTG bulb. They are nice looking and all but the density is nothing compared to the others under the sunmaster.....bulbs definetely matter.

Well, things have been a bit crazy as of late. I almost have the ebb/flow system complete, the first table will be ready for sure when the first set of plants come out of the flower room.

Clones:
Well, I have had a few problems with the clones but I have finally figured it out. I took clones off of all the feminized plants, 4 times. 1 time they went in perlite/vermiculite mix, once in plugs and twice in the aero cloner. Every time the cuts would die off, the stems would turn to mush.....different levels of humidity and heat did not matter. Each time I took cuttings from my tomahawk mother as well.....each time they rooted in 4 days to a week. Now the stems on the fem cuts would seem to go mushy mid way up the stem.....strange. Anyway, all the fem seeds I have will be put straight in to flower, I have new seed stock on the way. For me, wanting to keep numerous strains and run a SOG fem seeds will just not do. If space and simplicity was an issue then fem seeds would be a great option.....for taking cuttings and running a SOG with little to no veg time they are not.....at least the seeds I got.
I will throw the balance of the mothers I have in to flower in the next week or two.....sucks but oh well.

Here are roots after 3 days.....pain in the ass plant my wife keeps at work.....if this can push out roots the fem seeds have no excuse.

3 gal tomahawk and A.I., not sure on the date A.I. went in to flower....a week or so tops.





And the others in 32 ounce cups.....these are turning out nice but a pain as they need watering everyday. If they were all sitting in the ebb/flow system I would be happy.

I will try to get some photos before or after lights on/off so they don't look so yellow. I will also start to selectively flush some of the plants in 32 ounce cups in the coming week. I was planning on chopping on the 12th or so......I think some may need to come out early....time will tell.

Well, things are progressing. All the parts for the ebb flow system are finally here minus 4 fill/drain kits. I have taken pics throughout the build and will post a DIY when it is running with plants. I was going to start it up as soon as the right side of my flower room was done (week or two) but have decided to hold off till the first of the month as it will time better with a vacation I have planned.

Anyway, I am done with Fem seeds....for good. Overall I think they serve a purpose, just not mine very well. I have thrown in all the remaining A.I. in to flower and the trainwreck and cheese will soon follow. The balance of seed that I have will be germed in the coming weeks and run through the flower room when they are ready. I am placing a few seed orders this week, one from attitude and I will try another out....just not sure who.

Day 47 of flower





These will start to get their flush this weekend, as you can see they are suffering from some lockout. It has been a P.I.T.A. to water and keep up with them.....cannot wait till next run with hydro. Overall I am satisfied with how they are doing, they have started their last push of new calyxes and are packing on weight. It is a juggling act during watering as it is like a puzzle to keep them all upright.

A.I., there is a big unruley one in the back....I have tied her down all over the place as she is getting out of control. She is about a week in to flower.......the other 2 girls in the front are on day 2.





Veg area is looking empty compared to a week ago, soon it will be empty except for the soon to be mother tomahawk.



This is after 4 days in the aero cloner......I have A.I. cuts that are still in there that are on day 18 with nothing......something is up with the fem seeds and cloning. My last attempt with cloning them is a few that I have taken from the girl in flower....see if maybe less nitrogen will help....time will tell.



I have another 20 or so tomahawk cuts going under a dome, since I am putting off my next run a few weeks I may toss these.

I also have cuts from all the fem seed plants in plain water as well as in the fridge......

If I remember correctly you ran GHS Fem as well? I think it has to do with GHS Fem seeds rather than anyone's cloning ability. There are other threads out there about this same issue.....I have tried all methods of cloning and have my last batch running now.....I am done with GHS as well as all fem seeds.

Thanks, really can't wait for them to be done....not anxious to smoke them just tired of the daily watering. I think I may run the new system through a two week trial of micro greens....make sure there is no leaks and what not.

Hey man how is it going? I remember the thread......here is what I thought previously and what I still think:

For SOG, the more you can pack in the better. I can get 6 to 8 of the 32 oz plants in the same canopy that the 3 gallon takes up.....8 to 10 if they were trimmed to a single cola. When you factor in that larger plants take valuable veg time and space it is a no-brainer assuming you have a steady supply of clones. To give you an idea of what I am going to run next:



I am going to run 3 of those tubs in the flower room, each on a 20 day cycle. A fourth tub will be for the veg area as a staging ground for the clones before they hit flower. Each tub will hold 36 of the cups or 24 5"x5" square pots.....since I have cases of those plastic cups I am hoping they will work fine in the tubs. I will give a final weight on the 3 gal plant as well as measure the canopy size before I chop so it can be compared easily.

sounds like a fuckin plan, i want to have a similar setup running two sets of 16 clones in two liters harvesting about once a month (whatever half my flowering period is) hopefully pulling a half pound each time. my current grow is cheap and not harvesting enough for me and my friends and all the silly things i want to do with bud like make butter and stuff. bu for me to pgrade i need to move so thais might not happen for a while.

so do you pull around a half oz off each plant because thats what im hoping for? it defiantly looks like it haha

I would say with zero veg time in 2 liter containers you would average a bit better than half ounce per plant if everything goes according to plan. I will take some photos tonight when lights come on of the larger and smaller plants......each are dated on what date they were rooted so you can get an idea of the difference that a few days makes. The larger ones will go over 1 ounce when all is said and done, the smaller ones will be half ounce or better each....most are towards the ounce mark or better.
Some I topped, others I didn't.....I will try to document the harvest the best I can to give an idea of the results.

I will try to track down a thread I saw a while back on another site....guy was growing SOG in 20 ounce soda bottles averaging an ounce a plant. I think it had info regarding pot size as well.

I run a few tents and use tables and aero grows in them find them very efficient averaging around 1-3 lbs dry from the tents. When you clone what is your prefered hormone? Clonex gel,powder,dip n gro?Did you say you had some 600 digital ballast for sale cheap?Yeah htg bulkbs and gear is pretty junky get a good bulb like hortilux makes big difference..Heres one of my 4x8 tables. I run 2 600 watt digitals per tent and in my findings own a hydro store that i actually prefer the white lined tents more then the silver as with a refractometer the white reflects more light back to the plants.Good grows and great journel

yea i ran ghs trainwreck and ai but actually the wreck cloned very well and my kings kush clones took 2 1/2 weeks but they finally rooted too. So i might just be the ai is very unstable and a more fical cloner lol Oh and your SOG should be crazy!!!

Hey FF, thanks for dropping by. I am running hydro in the tent next run....ebb/flow. The tent was purchased in a pinch locally....I actually am building my second tent so that is will hook to the sunhut....overall it works since I needed it quickly and I picked it up locally for under 300 new. Cloning I was using Olivia's but recently switched to Clonex. HTG has been removed from my list of suppliers....not only is a lot of the gear junk but they will hold up a 800.00 order for a 6.00 part....I am trying to do local now but I have limited options.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with the ice.....I have 3 in flower now, 1 will get torn out as it is just getting lankier by the day.....the other 2 have stayed compact so far.....knock on wood. I have had limited luck with cloning these fem seeds.....have tried 4 methods with cuttings taken in veg as well as 2 weeks in to flower.....limited success. Each time I took cuttings from my tomahawk as well.....every time and every method it popped roots in no longer than 8 days......I am stumped.
I placed a new seed order a few days ago and will place another order once it arrives....splitting up the order as it was kind of large and want to reduce the risk a bit. Seeds that are on the way:

Side note.....went to state capital yesterday to speak with 2 of my representatives about medicinal marijuana and the upcoming vote. These fucking people are clueless....I admire people that dedicate their lives to public service.....but FFS, know the issues. I will say that they both seemed to be interested in what I had to say and one actually set a meeting with me locally in a few weeks after they break for session. They seemed to think that most marijuana "myths" were fact, not surprising but seriously aren't they briefed with all kinds of research and reports on issues that are coming up to vote? Do they actually spend the time to read what they are voting on? Do they care?
Anyway, it was frustrating but I am glad that I have some open dialogue....how much it helps I don't know. Currently 70+% of the state supports medicinal use and almost 40% in outright legalization.......doesn't really matter for me personally....by the time this passes and goes in to effect I will be living back in California.

Well, been real busy since my last post. Landlord called late Sat. letting me know that he and repair guy and a inspector would be on my floor all this week and on my half Mon, Tue, Wed.

I keep my grow area so that it can be either dismantled or "disguised" and I make sure not to leave anything laying around....nutes and the like. The P.I.T.A. part about it all is all the stupid little things: glassware, misc. smoking devices, herb etc that are lying around the rest of the place......anyway....All square for the moment, medicating as he and said repair guy is on the floor below.

I opted not to tear down, I know the risks......but this is the second time we have had people in our building during the week of harvest.....last time I pulled them early. This time I cannot bear to.....there is zero smell and nothing else around to point to a grow so F'it. Friday will be the end of week 8, this is a 8 week strain.....I like to let it go closer to 9....so it would be about 10 or so days early for me....not acceptable.

To all that think commercial/warehouse space is the answer....yes there are huge advantages....but some huge disadvantages such as numerous types of inspections throughout the year and maintenance and repair of what they deem necessary. I have not gone for a 3 month stretch without having someone not invited inside my place....keep that in mind.

I will post some photos later today (9 or so hours..... after they leave) of what the area looked like before and after, kind of funny.

Well, still up and running. They may be in here all week which really just blows....bad.

Not much to update.....flower room is packed at the moment. 3 A.I., 2 Cheese, 2 trainwreck, 1 tomahawk.....all in 3 gallon pots. Also still have the other 16 tomahawks which should be ready in the next week or so. Here are the comparison photos, sorry they are not very good, camera batteries died and I have yet to get more.
