have you thought about buying some of the 4' fluorescent lights? It would be a lot cheaper than buying numerouse cfls and reflectors.

i wouldnt be able to use 4 feet fluros, the only ones i could fit are 2 feet if they have those?

I averaged 160watts per plant, mixed spectrum. MIxed spectrum is important. Using only red or only blue is for the HID guys (MH=blue, HPS = red) With CFL's you dont have to choose, you can use BOTH. This is a mistake many CFL users make using JUST red (2700k).

Actually, you can get HID bulbs that have both MH and HPS in a single bulb. They cost about $150 each though. Plus you can mix HIDs if you are using more than one. I know a guy who added a MH light to his HPS grow room; he said he couldn't detect any difference. He was thinking the additional UV from the Metal Halide might boost budding in late flowering.

Also, horticultural HID bulbs are designed to have an extended color temperature range to make them more effective as grow lights.

yeah i was generalizing. You can get mixed spectrum HID's now. Most still use just one or the other. I'd love to add a MH to my HPS but that would turn my tent into an oven LOL. As it is i have a few COOL CFL's in the corners of my tent supplimenting the HPS.

well im at 100 watts per plant right now so im close to 160 watts. i hope to have 200 watts per plant by the end of mixed spectrum.
