Home built cloner won't root, WTF!

I'm having issues with my home built misting cloner. Ive had cuttings in there for over 2 weeks & nothing, no bumps or baby roots but the cuts still look green & healthy as the day they were put in. So, whatam i missing. My ph is kept 5.0-5.5. Just yesterday I added an airstone to Add O2 to the H2O. A fishtank thermo on a 15on/15off, & a plastic growdome to bring up humidity.
I've got them under 2 20watt fluros
What the butt? Any ideas anyone??

It should be on like 5 on 10 off. Plus u dnt need to put a dome on it. Just be patient some of mine took way over three weeks while one or two would be growing roots like crazy.

yea, the roots have to search for the water to grow. since yours is on 24/7 they dont have to search for any water hence why no roots grow

Ok that makes sense, still confused as to why others report high success rates with nonstop misting but I'll try it out.

Q: would 15/15 work or is that risking dryout w/too much time off
If so, I'll need a proper timer, any suggestions?

Ok so priced the timers that work in short time increments and they're $80-$100+ and since i'm only using aero for cloning then transfering to dirt, that's a bit spendy. So instead, i hooked up the pump to a timer with 15 min increments so it's going to alternate 15on/15off 24hrs a day. Hopefully they don't dry out in the 15 off period but with a constantly bubbling air stone the air should stay moist enough I think. I'll repost results in a few days.

not sure what your system looks like, but they shouldnt dry out after only 15 minutes.

I've had my cloner set to spray for 15 seconds, off for 45 minutes and nothing dried out.

good luck, post results.

what is ur reservoir temps? that could be one of the reasons why theyre not rooting.

I don't have a thermo. It felt cool to the touch so I added the fishtank heater on a 15/15 interval to bring it up to room temp. I live in a cool climate. What's an ideal temp?

Running the pumps 24/7 will still create roots. I run my homemade aerocloner 24/7 and get nearly 100% every time.

I use clonex dip and clonex nutes with RO water @ 75* 5.5ph no dome no misting

I use 2 bubblewands per cloner to make sure they get plenty of o2, maybe that could be your issue.

Regardless, even at 2 weeks no growth keep going with it and they should eventually take.

Running the pump 24/7 works just fine.

What does your temperature look like?

Did you score the stem at all when you cut the clone?

15 on 15 off works fine

Fish tank aquarium timers go in 15 minute intervals. Get one at large pet supply store.

I used clonex to make the cuts and the ones that were fat enough to split at the base, i did. I used regular tap water b/c I don't have an R/O filter.
I just added an airstone to the water two days ago after 2 weeks of no rooting so hopefully that will help things. The tops still look really healthy so i'm keeping optomistic. Ph is 5.0-5.5, checking it twice daily. keeping fingers crossed. I'll post pics soon
