adding dangerous compounds to increase addiction beyond what nicotine is capable of itself. going to court in the past to say ciggs are not addictive. the tobacco lobbyists are some of the worst people around. i dont know why people dont get more angry about there business practices.
Because ultimately we understand that it is a matter of freedom of choice. The tobacco companies did not hold a gun up to our heads and force us to smoke, start smoking, or even continue to smoke. Besides, with a government hell-bent on taxing everyone to death one needs to enjoy life's small luxuries. Especially since the politicians are likely to continue trying to tax smokers to death.
If I was so inclined I could quit, it is a choice. It does however take a good amount of will power to quit, and being one that enjoys socializing it is hard to actually escape the habit.
Obesity is much more dangerous to the health though, and the resultant problems are much more expensive to deal with, in addition to being similar to effects of smoking. Perhaps some one should determine if all those agro-giants are adding weird shit to their food that enhances how addictive it is. They certainly do seem to add a lot of weird shit.
