This is kinda silly.
Cannabis will be legalized soon in California. Probably not the first time it goes to the Assembly, but who knows, Cali is broke. What you have not even considered here in your pipe dream of what it should cost.....TAXES! The bill in the Ca Assembly calls for a tax of $50/oz...(215 patients exempt) and $5000 license to grow commercially (not hemp)
Even if you grow outside, there is a cost to your perfect spot...you either own a nice chunk, a private backyard or you are trespassing. For most people this is not a reality...Neighbors too close, apartment/condo dweller, utility easement, yada yada yada.
Is pot too expensive...of course. But if you are growing huge outdoor plants which produce pounds...you should be selling pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to bring the price of weed down, sell cheaper pounds! Instead of putting some local schmuck out of his free head stash by selling cheaper ounces until it's all gone and then expect indoor growers to be charities.
$200-$250 an ounce for good pot is not unreasonable....IT IS A KICK ASS DEAL! And should be reserved for multiple zips and the kindest of bros.
This is just so f'n obvious here, but nobody is really forced to buy over priced bud...I sure as hell don't. But then again...I can't leave! I get up no later than 7am even on days off...I need to be home near 7pm...my entire house smells like a huge bud...My room has not been completely dark for 10 months...the sound of fans ring in my head...I have to run my AC when it is hot...even if I am not home...I put in 1-2 hours a day in the garden...I cannot have guests...etc, etc.
Growing has many costs.
If you feel you are paying too much for fine Cannabis...grow it your self. If it were that easy, this thread would not exist...but it is! sort of.

if I actually tried to calculate how much my CHRONIC weed should cost per oz . . . . . it would be way lower than you think. even with a 50 dollar tax. it would be 150 tops.
I don't care if you think that's wrong, my weed turns out high grade, you can look on previous pages to find out. and watch my grows in the future.
either way, I spend probably 200-300 bucks for an entire outdoor grow. the labor aint shit.

I also do not buy pot. I hope I never will have to buy it again. If you want to lower the price of bud...grow your own! It costs me in electricity, nutes, coco etc ~$28 an ounce. I really find no more reason to complain about the price of bud.
And dude I get it! I have been doing this since 1983...I know you can grow a shitload of bud outdoors, just because I have seen it done.
Now you say this is without legalization...So that changes things up a bit...I spent my first 23 years in the midwest where pot is very much illegal...I understand when I pay for bud, I am paying for a felony.

I don't agree with people who say it should be free to be honest. There are PLENTY of things that grow in the ground that you don't think twice about buying.
Not everyone wants to grow there own, i certainly cant be bothered to grow vegetables etc so i buy them along with most of the population!
