Great thread, have enjoyed the patience being shown by all! With that being said; I will toss out my own newbish questions.
I live in a rather rural area, but I am able to grow due to my medical marijuana card. I am not finding a tote that is less than 10gallons, just does not exist here in Montana. Any suggestion as to where I might find an 8gal?
WALMART HAS THEM.
Along with the smaller tote, neither the Home Depot or Lowes have good CFLs, Hydroton, or net pots. Found plenty of places online with ease, but everyone charges an arm and a leg for shipping. Again, any suggestion for a place that doesn't cost as much for shipping? Love living up here in Montana, beautiful country, but being remote has its downsides.
I will probably end up doing one (25watt) 6500K and one (25watt) 2700K per net pot. This would come to a total of 12 bulbs, do you think this would be a bit of over kill?
2 LITTLE 25 watt bulbs per plant will barely keep a plant alive, but it will not thrive. You need a lot more watts and luments. It seems I could invest in higher watt configurations but then have the addition of needing a mogul (spelling?) socket.
No, you can get 42, 65, 85 and 105 watt CFL bulbs with standard mogul sockets. Lowes and Home Depot have 65 and 68 watt CFLs for $16 each, with standard sockets.
I understand the 3000 lumens per plant theory, but no matter how you split it CFLs just don't penetrate the plant enough.
Look at my grow.
I am hoping to maybe curtail that and give enough over lapping zones that maybe I can get a smidge more? This is my own medication, so if it is over kill, I can just abandon the idea and simplify with larger wattage CFLs.
Thanks again to everyone who has posted and the wealth of information being shared by all. I am looking forward to making a video for the entire production of the bubbleponic system. I am a retired Air Force vet, so I have nothing better to do than tinker around and grow my medication!
