Roseman: Sorry again to call on you but I'm starting to get a little nervous. I've got pretty much everything I need aside from the seedlings and fertalizer. Can you tell me what products you use and how you feed your plants. Seeing as you've somewhat mastered this art I'd feel a little better knowing I'm using what is known to work. That, and I still don't understand what people are saying when they say X-X-X in numbers. Thanks again SOOOO much for your help my set up looks great. I've been taking pictures for you and will post soon. All thanks to you bro! You've made an MS patient somewhat happy in these miserable times. Much love to everyone here!!!

any advice with the nutrients with the auto flowering ? also what lighting spectrum should i use veg or flowering or a mix? these are the last two things i need to get everything figured out thank you for your time.

I'd use both kinds of nutes and both spectrums of light.

Use a high Nitrogen and a high Phosperous, leaning toward higher or more phosperous.

Use both Spectrums, (the sun does) too.

Hey everybody,
First off I want to say a BIG thank you to all who have contributed to this thread. It has been truly educational. What a great resource this board is.

I do have a question that I haven t seen asked.
Is a 30gal Sterilite tote too large for 4-6 plants using bubbleponics? It seems most are using 8-10 gal containers. Thanks

Way, way too big.

How is this system better than areoponics?

You can grow 6 ft tall plants in it, mostly. And the rate of growth is much much faster.

You said that when you refresh your roots and give them 10 min fresh air the next day you see a growth spurt. Well areopnics you give them air every 5 min.

we're talking about roots that are 75% in the water, and 25% out, then being 100% out for a while.

Also, are the amount of floros your using cheaper than a 1000 w hps?

thank you

The electric bill is much cheaper, the bulbs are cheaper and then there is the cost of venting the heat out.

google N P K with spaces in betwen the letters.

The number represents the "part of". I use nutes that are labeled:

GROW N-P-K 10:5:14
CALCIUM 6%, MAGNISUM 2%, SULPHUR 3%,

IRON .12%, MANGANESE .05%,
AND BORON, COPPER, CHLORIDE,
MOLYBDENUM, AND ZINC .01%

BLOOM N-P-K 5:15:14
(NOTE A SMALL AMOUNT OF NITROGEN IS STILL IN THERE)
CALCIUM 5%, MAGNESIUM 3.5%,
SULPHUR 4%, IRON .1%,
AND BORON, COPPER, CHLORIDE,
MOLYBDENUM, AND ZINC .01%

For GROW or VEG cycle, I use a nute with ten parts Nitrogen and much less phorperous.. For Bloom, it is 5 parts Nitrogen, and much more phosperous.
Get it?

Have a happy 4th, bro!

Well thats not what I asked should i do it outside in that or would i get better weed if i put it in a pot or in the ground directly

Bubbleponics is the hot item right now. RM's introduction to this thread answered a lot of questions about this system including noticeable benefits.

What makes this system so appealing is the amount of time you deduct from maintenance from feeding. Not even including the ability to completely control the nutrients makes it a smash hit.

Here's somewhat of in order of assembly of my room.

This is pretty much owed to Roseman  and his patience with answering some tedious questions for me. I'm so happy that there is people out there willing to spend time with "nubs". It makes this a great community to be apart of!

I must say that this system has cost me somewhat a pretty penny but stealth is what I'm all about. That and not having to rely on shady people anymore.

So it was worth it in the end. Or hopefully will be once I decide to actually begin when I've got the last remaining items and have a good first run.

I can't figure out how to add my photo's that are not HUGE...any one with advice?...Think I have it....

I still need to add Mylar to the walls as well. Can't believe I almost forgot!

***When the seeds are in the Rockwool in the bubbleponics systems do I want the lights off for a period of time? I've heard people mention doing so.***

Shadow,

It would not be practical outside because you could not control the res tempature. Also with a water source built in it would be a bug magnet.

Kiso,

It took me about 2 grows to pay back the investment. Don't post picture yet so no idea on that. On the light question, leave them in the dark if you are growing from seeds in the rockwool in the res. You turn on the light (keep it far away, they don't need bright light yet) when you see the first seedling break up. It's looking for light at that time and the rest of the seed will soon follow. You leave the lights on 24/7 while in veg ( I veg for 5-6 weeks). When the plants are mature ( alternating leaves is a sure sign) you switch the light to 12 on - 12 off and keep that pattern until the end. In some cases people turn the lights totally out for the last 3 days before they harvest. I've done it and it seems to help the buds firm up a bit.

another good source for supplies is htgsupply.com.... but i just used walmart home depot and a hydro store.... i also say if in america to use cfl's or even LEDs cause there are no heat signatures like hps hid MH lights.... stealth grows just work better on cfl my opinion its easier to control temp levels

As a matter of fact YES, HTG Supply is Da' Bomb!!.
Tony is amazing.
Great communication and great deals. I'm very impressed and happy with how I've been taken care of by them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

**** NO love from big brother on my pics**** I'll go QQ over in the corner now =)

I ended up deciding on GH Flora Series Liquid Concentrate to grow with. Tony advised me at HTG that it's the most popular item they sell and the nutrients seemed to match what Roseman was saying. So things should be looking good =)

hey nice set up man. so are you saying i need to buy those extra pumps and air stones that you mentioned in the beginning of the thread or does the system come with everything when i buy the combo?

Great thread, have enjoyed the patience being shown by all! With that being said; I will toss out my own newbish questions.
I live in a rather rural area, but I am able to grow due to my medical marijuana card. I am not finding a tote that is less than 10gallons, just does not exist here in Montana. Any suggestion as to where I might find an 8gal? Along with the smaller tote, neither the Home Depot or Lowes have good CFLs, Hydroton, or net pots. Found plenty of places online with ease, but everyone charges an arm and a leg for shipping. Again, any suggestion for a place that doesn't cost as much for shipping? Love living up here in Montana, beautiful country, but being remote has its downsides.

I will probably end up doing one (25watt) 6500K and one (25watt) 2700K per net pot. This would come to a total of 12 bulbs, do you think this would be a bit of over kill? It seems I could invest in higher watt configurations but then have the addition of needing a mogul (spelling?) socket. I understand the 3000 lumens per plant theory, but no matter how you split it CFLs just don't penetrate the plant enough. I am hoping to maybe curtail that and give enough over lapping zones that maybe I can get a smidge more? This is my own medication, so if it is over kill, I can just abandon the idea and simplify with larger wattage CFLs.

Thanks again to everyone who has posted and the wealth of information being shared by all. I am looking forward to making a video for the entire production of the bubbleponic system. I am a retired Air Force vet, so I have nothing better to do than tinker around and grow my medication! :)

This is a DIY thread. DIY means Do It Yourself, like in Home-made.

If you buy the kit, you do get everything. What is listed in this thread is if you wnat to build your own kit.

WALMART HAS THEM.

2 LITTLE 25 watt bulbs per plant will barely keep a plant alive, but it will not thrive. You need a lot more watts and luments. It seems I could invest in higher watt configurations but then have the addition of needing a mogul (spelling?) socket.
No, you can get 42, 65, 85 and 105 watt CFL bulbs with standard mogul sockets. Lowes and Home Depot have 65 and 68 watt CFLs for $16 each, with standard sockets.

I understand the 3000 lumens per plant theory, but no matter how you split it CFLs just don't penetrate the plant enough.

Look at my grow.

I am hoping to maybe curtail that and give enough over lapping zones that maybe I can get a smidge more? This is my own medication, so if it is over kill, I can just abandon the idea and simplify with larger wattage CFLs.

CFL Tutorial -

I appreciate the response! Maybe I did not clarify myself in my previous post about some of the issues, seeing as it was quite late when I posted :)

Both of the Wal-Mart locations here in Billings, MT do not have 8 gallon totes. Nor does the Wal-Mart online catalog carry such an item sadly.

And again neither the Lowes or Home Depot here have any of the suggested CFLs. A check through their websites, also lack the suggested with the exception of 42watt 6500K. Which lead me to try and come up with something that I could work with; within the confines of the stock that I have access to. I have read through your CFL Tutorial page several times and was trying to find a work around. 12 (25w) lights in a row, is not going to work as you said. I will just have to break down and buy 12 (42w) from an online retailer and place them in a row :)

Again living in a rural area has plenty of benefits but sometimes our stores don't seem to have the same stocking as many metropolitan areas!
