Totally agree, too much of one thing has always been bad. Too many republicans, too many democrats, too much sex, too much weed... moderation in everything is key. Sam Harris mentions how dangerous it can be for any one group of people, in his case fanatical religious people, in this case government, to get together and talk about important things without any criticism or opposition to their ideas, exact same goes for political ideas.Neither could the last one. What this country needs is a Democrat President and a Republican Congress. A Republican Congress and a Republic (Neocon) President is bad, a Democrat Congress and a Democrat President is bad, too. The only one that approached any functional approach towards sustainable government was under Clinton and the Republican Congress.
Of most of the presidents, he'd probably be one of the ones I respect the most, I've got a positive opinion of the guy.As far as Jefferson, he actually did try to get slavery abolished in Virginia. You should go see if your library has a biography of him. What you might learn could change your opinion of him.
The same pretty much goes for Washington in my book. Both those guys did their share of great things, but they both also did bad things. Much like most of the humans throughout history. I bet even Ghandi did some things you and I would consider pretty bad by today's standards.Washington, on the other hand, I just know that he resisted calls for himself to assume kingship and name himself Rex... of course, I am willing to entertain a debate as to whether or not that was the best course of action. Especially based on the policies of this administration and the last one.

What do you mean by that? How would he do that?Back to Ron pauil that I was asked about.. i say don't vote for him as he would split the tickets and make any election skewed.
I think that's what we need, a guy with good ideas, not just a guy whose willing to run the same old fucked up system the same way till it fails. We need someone who is willing to say ''fuck being comfortable with shit that doesn't work how it's supposed to, we need to fix this, find a new way to do it better, faster and cheaper and then we need to teach it to our kids so they can do it and find better ways to improve it", we need a guy who knows how these complicated systems work so that when things go wrong, they'll know exactly what to do to fix them, or atleast have a guy who knows when he's not smart enough to deal with the problem, put someone in charge who is.He is too idealistic for my needs and does not have a hard enough stance for a strongly built military and personally i do not want a pot head running the country..weird huh?
His military stance is "don't fuck around and cause trouble in other countries and we won't be forced to come in and show you why it was a big mistake" - a philosophy I completely agree with.
Show me ONE SOURCE that Ron Paul smokes pot. Total accusation, I demand proof.
Democrat, Republican, they all have the "ME" mentality. Republicans get it through starting wars then giving our taxes to their buddies in no bid government contracts, Democrats get it through taxing us up front disguised as some new form of protection or defense, and the majority of us willfully give it up, in both instances, as if there's no other option... I've been beginning to have the "why the hell should I give them my money if they're just going to keep doing this bullshit with it" mentality personally... but that's just me, I'm just one person and since Paul didn't win, the IRS still exists, and in this wonderful world, our government can force any of us into an institution for years for not paying them the racket. Modern day mob boss's n shit.but yeah I want a clear headed person in office at this time of life and Paul to me is like Ross Perot has so good ideas but is little to all over the place for me....I am at a diuscagreement with brutal though on the need for a democarate president as they just do not work out as that party has gone so far to the "ME" side it no longer can function as a controller of a entire group.
Sounds like what the GOP is supposed to be...I do think it would be nice to get a more balance congress with all ne fresh blood with a more moderate leaning but I would also like a strong moderate republican for pres whose focus is not on religion, abortion rights or wrong, does not make a stance for or against gay rights and is consumed with the rebuilding of or financial infulstructure and military needs.
You can't accomplish that through intimidation. We need other countries to look at us as an ally, an important force in the world, not a force to be feared or fear opposing them. Just like TBT mentioned, and Sam Harris agrees with, as do I, too many people agreeing on the same shit with no opposition is dangerous, if your only other opposition is afraid to even oppose what you propose, only what you propose happens. Essentially any other opposition doesn't even matter.I want a no nonsense president that the world looks at like ok this guy is serious we need to be on his side and not screw with them.
It's sort of stupid I have to mention this in any post I defend Obama, and I'm not saying that's because of you FF, that's not the case at all, just that if I don't mention it, someone will pull that shit and say I'm only defending him because he's black or because he's a Democrat.. or whatever the fuck other reason... That's not the case, I just say this because the way he's presenting himself around the world to other world leaders is better than the old way, the way Bush did, the fear way. People arent intimidated by him, they don't feel threatened, like if they don't agree with the policies he'll bomb their country... The entire world agree's, every single poll I've seen agrees, he's presenting himself the way the rest of the world thinks an American president should, people respect that. It's confident, he looks dignified, that makes him look like a strong president. Doing the shit Bush did doesn't make you look strong, it makes you look weak, like a guy who buys a Ferrari to compensate for his small penis, Bush flexed his military power to compensate for other political weaknesses. What we have now and in a lesser version for Clinton is a total lack of world respect and a weak front man who has no idea how to be strong.
What do you suggest? Be realistic now... You can't go and round up all the illegals and send em back to Mexico, so what do you think we should do about the situation?I do not know who will be the one to fit this role and I do not know if we will be ableto clean congress out but that would be an ideal setup to me.Less give it to me for free programs. More bebfits to keep outsourcing down via tax breaks and cuts for companies and thier owners. I would like to see a heavier crack down on illegals one time and your done type dceal.
Wow, terrible ideas man, both of them. Let me explain why I think that would be a huge problem. Border barriers, who builds them? How much do they cost? Who manns them? Do we build them along the Canadian border too? What's the protocal if someone jumps the border barrier? Shoot to kill? As for the clone, robot education system... you went through the American public education system right? I was just thinking the other night how much more of a daycare center the entire body of the K-12 system is compared to how much more I've learned being out on my own for 4 years! Treating every single student exactly the same and not building each individuals primary educational advancements limits their abilities. I can't evene express how much of a mistake that is. Could you imagine a world where individuals were treated as that and we had tons of people who were great at a ton of different things, instead of a lot of people who were OK at a few things...Border barriers would be a priority. setting up a nation wide school system so each state is on a federal regulated learning package all schools kids learn the same ways and at same levels.
Agreed.I would be for a flate rate tax on working class people non business owners.I would like to see incentives given to those companies who add things like health care packages and worker stock options in thier companies. At this point this is all wishful think as we first have to get the dictatory out of office and reverse the massive damge he has inflected and try to prevent it from getting any worse then comes relection where we vote out incumbents for new qualified blood who are more middle ground whether demo or republican to even out the processes so things get done. An idependent company to oversee federal spending would be nice no more $5000 hammers, no more $8000 toliet seats. A resetting of the original checks and balance system we were founded on. I also would like it to go back to what is leagl and have the states vote and control the fedearl gov instead of the sates run by the federal government.
