the fact is that there are 15 million ways to do the same thing. some of them work, some of them don't. you two have obviously developed your own methods which work for BOTH of you. this only proves that there is no one RIGHT way to clone. no need to bash other people's methods just because you don't use them. :peace:

We may well do things differently and thats not the issue.

The issue is that if your going to put an instructional on how to take clones, then do it.

I used to work as a driving instructor so I know all too well how litterally a newbie will take things if you don't explain enough.

I'm all up for people sharing different methods and if it works great. I just see newbies following this journal and having dead clones because its not thorough enough.

When the lights come back on later, I will follow this tutorial from a newbies perspective and take a clone. I will chart its progress in this page.

I appreciate your point of view, taking into consideration that there are noobs like me who need those laymen terms. I dive to, and if questions are left unanswered, problems WILL result....Murphey's Law. Kudos.

don't bother; if you think this thread is a waste of bandwidth, delete it.

Is somebody out of ganja? lol
more a matter of sense. ngt's cloning thread is fine, and goes into more detail. plus, he's here to hold a n00b's hand, and i'm working two jobs almost everyday.

so, this thread is not needed, and probably won't help anyone (esp if they read the thread and not just the first post). i'd delete it myself if i could, but alas...

kp - don't take it to heart! I know you mean well and are trying your best to provide assistance, but I am with NGT on this.

I just think there are too many variables not defined enough in your method. Newbie's can and most probably will stray a little and wonder why your method didn't work, which then makes you look sort of bad.

i don't think i'm trying my best; that may be the problem.

and like i said, with a mod around with a complex and detailed cloning procedure in his sig, this thread is a waste of time and hard drive space.

A mod with a complex? I didn't think you would take this personally.

lol, i'm not taking it personally; the first thing i did was read your cloning thread after you mentioned it. yours is better than mine, and mine is not necessary, waste of bandwidth. your thread is detailed, mine is vague.

and i didn't say you had a complex, i said you had a complex and detailed thread, as in you didn't miss anything, and have pix along in the steps. and, as i said, you are here to help more than i am at this point, which is why i haven't bothered worrying about becoming a mod, esp after all the bs that went down between this site and the other. both parties seem to think i'm at the center, or i'm a spy, or whatever; i just try to help along and along.

kp

oh, and btw, it's raining, and i'm depressed; if i come off as brash, i don't really mean to, it's just a lack of smileys and enthusiasm.

I'd be interested to know how many types of cloning procedures everybody here has tried. I've only done one to date; perlite/vermiculite in a wick system. I had about 75% success with it last time, but I was sloppy with some of 'em (breaking stems and such).

I've never used rockwool before and I'm wanting to try it on top of a bed of perlite in my wick system. I don't want to have to worry about setting up drip system etc. How is rockwool's capillary action? Think it'll pull moisture from the perlite pretty well?

on the trapline we just chop it off,if it is strong enough to survive its srtong enough to grow,we dont need no stinking cloneing machines and root gel, thats for pussies, pussies i say.im kidding man,we rub the end of the cutting in beaver castor and spray it with weasal piss to keep the predators away, like your girl friend who wants to steal them, and your brother who waits for you to leave.i hope this helps.
