Planning my first grow. A few questions.

Here it is guys, my cabinet is nearing completion. :D :D Pictures below! Feedback and input please?!


Here's my exhaust tubes which I will put my 80mm fans, and carbon filters in.

Now I just need some reflective lining, a adjustable shelf, and then it's on too the growing part!! :D
 
Thanks for the support. And I solved my mylar problem. A friend is going to order it for me on Ebay so there's no connection, just in case!

But I still am unsure as to how I'm going to power my two case fans. I was looking at 12V DC... things, and I can't seem to figure it out, heh. Do I have to remove the connectors from both the fans and the adapter then just strip the wires and connect them.... or what? :S
 
very short space. use CFLs, a small container, and 12/12 from seed. keep the light close to avoid stretching and maybe even LST it.


yes you just disconnect / strip the wiring and splice the comp fans onto the 12v dc adapted wires.
 
Thanks guys, I just ordered 3 feminized seeds from attitude. I bought Lowryder #2 x AK47. And my mylar should hopefully be here within the week. I'll look into getting the exhaust hooked up asap before my other stuff arrives. I'll keep you guys posted!

All input still welcome.

So I made removable cardboard cutouts to line my cabinet so that I can clean my mylar sheeting safely.

get yourself a couple more fans to blow around inside their.....Want some idea's look @ my journal!!( if you live with 2 buddys their has to be a closet somewhere, make that into a room and get a 250 watt or something) good luck!!!

I like the idea of your cab man, I think it'll work out pretty good for you. The only thing I might mention, and may be too late for you to change, is the position of your air input and outputs. The air coming in will just make a U-turn and go out and then the hot air will be picked up by the input again and you'll have like a circle of hot air.

I would have put the input at the bottom of the cab and maybe down on the side, that way you would have a current of cool air coming in at the bottom, flowing up through your plant and out at the top where all the hot air is.

Other than that everything looks awesome! subscribed dude.:joint::joint:
 
Those are both exhausts, there is a passive intake at the very bottom rear of the cab.

But I think I might need to upgrade my fans to 120mm. I only have three lights going instead of six and it likes to sit around 81 degrees or so, which after all six are going means it's going to be a little to warm inside.

yep CFL's get hot when stuffed in a small spot..........get yourself a couple more fans.......make one for intake also!!!
 
are you going with lowrider or shortrider? im planning a continous 10 plant harvest using a short plant which will prob be a lowrider or short rider.. the sites i found say that they only grow to 12 in tall and can harvest an oz or 2 off of one plant...
 
MyGTO, I just wrapped up reading through your grow journal. Very nice set up, you put some hands down, real effort, into what you're doing. I just got done ordering two 120mm/135CFM fans for my box instead of my previous 80mm fans that were doing poorly. As soon as they're in I will install them and begin germination. Wish me luck! :D Btw, great job on your set up again. I'll keep you guys posted!
 
hey dude, im thinking about doing something like this! im in for this one. i was looking at nirvana and it looks like they discontinued lowrider and top 44 :/ are you going with short rider?
 
I went with The attitude and ordered some feminized lowryder mixed with AK47. I should have them before the weeks up hopefully.


Any input welcome and appreciated!
 
Im going to do a bit more research but ill prob go with a 6 pack of feminized short riders from nirvana shop as long as they ship to USA

EDIT: for starters.. then once i get on my feet im going to start growin tons of them

if ur looking for a easy way to get small amounts of mylar try going to out door stores and buy a couple surval blankets. there cheep and about the size of a single bed

there ya go. i heard white paint was the best. cheepest and it reflects alot of light but to eaches own... yeah dude i got some wood and im gonna make a grow cabinet like urs soon so ill be :shock: this lol
