my first grow and i dont know what the hell im doing

i'm starting my first ever grow, i'm hella excited but also very nervous. i've been reading around like crazy for weeks now and think i have the gist of it but i figured i would start this thread in case i have any questions, and so i can get some opinions. all help will be appriciated.

buy soil that is pre nuted. grow for 3-4 weeks then add nutes slowly. for the first week grow under 24hours of light then go down to 18/6. if your leaves ever turn yellow or start too add nutes. also make sure that your light is about 2-3 inches from your plant. if you go any farther it will stretch horribly and that will make your stem weak as hell. thats very important that you dnt forget that

also if you are on a budget use CFLs. cheap and dont heat up worth a crap

im using one 225 led panel(i know this wont do much but i got it from a friend for free so i figured i'd use it) and i plan on using two-four cfl's. the grow will be in soil.

i'm going to go get all the supplies in the next few days but i wanted to get some advice first so i dont waste money on shit i dont need since im on a tight budget.

i'm only growing one plant because my space is very small and this one is just for learning purposes for my next grow i will have way more space and more money.

id grow 2 plants man, cuz it really sux to put all your care and love and money go into one plant and a mont later you find out its male. what are toy growing in, a closet? do you have height issues? read up on low stress training (LST)

thanks for all the great advice nutes is one topic i need some help on. i'm still setting up the area and waiting for my seeds(white widow ten pack from nirvana) heard some bad stuff about nirvana but they were cheap and i dont have alot of money right now. hopefully they show up and soon.

Don't buy soil that is pre nuted. Get yourself a big bale of promix, that only has a small feeding, or none at all. This will fill a lot of pots. I get 2 bales a year.
As a beginer, I would get somthing like flora nova to use for nutes. Wait till you see 5 fully formed leaves before you add 1/4 strength flora nova grow. Feed every other watering, but slightly increase the dosage. 1/4 to 3/8 to 1/2. tsp. If you see any yellowing post a pic. Don't nute before we look at it. Keep ph of nutrient solution 6.5.

no man think about your one plant turning into a male with balls instead of buds, its such a let down. even if you grow 2 plants theres no garentee for a female. ive seen someone get 5/5 all males. or what if you acedentally kill one. you could start 2 seedlings in dixie cups for 3 weeks put them in bigger pots, start practicing some low stress training, switch to 12/12 after a few more weeks and the plants wont get much taller than 2-3 feet by the time your done flowering and ready to harvest.

its a good idea to practice growing something else before you grow weed, just get a few seeds from some plants (i used li-chi plants) and just germinate them and see how you handle that plant for a week or 2, then when you think your ready plant your weed seeds!

tomorrow i'm going to the store to pick up my supplies i plan on getting the stuff i need for a diy carbon filter, my cfl's, my timer, and im going to look at how much it would cost to use mylar "emergancy blankets"

lol i read that wrong.. umm your gonna be a tight fit juss imagine a 1 square foot plant that is 2 and a half feet tall. i say do it your making a bigger chance of growing 1 and her all of a sudden having a sex change. if they both end up being females you will be good to go brah
