HAdn't heard that. I use Green Light Lawn and Garden with Spinosad. Suppose to replace BT. THink its the same price and makes 8 gal/quart
I did find a caterpillar on the CC plant. There are very few. I havent seen any on the JS in bud yet either and I hope I dont. I probably should spray again.

THe plants are starting to go into flower mode with shorter nodal division and more pistals showing up. Next nute blast will be Wed or thurs and it will be bloom. The way I figure it, an average 8 week flower period would take me to the end of Sept with flush into Oct. Since we dont get much rain by then I should be ok. THe sativas should take another 2 weeks or so so by the end of Oct should all be done.

The JS1 will be starting week 5 in flower with JS2 and JS3 at weeks 4 and 3, respectively. I'll see if I can get some closeups of the colas again on Weds update.

Here is some JS bud porn. I also took a few of some others just starting to go into the flower mode with increased nodal spacing and calyx development.

Row 1: (Pics 1-4) HJ flower mode, WC Pink/red pistals
Row 2: (Pics 1-5 JS1 main cola in bloom. Last 3 are from the top. I'll use a ladder next time.
Row 3: (Pics 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 JS 1 and 2 side buds), Pic 4 WC white pistals with visitor

This is the start of my 2009 SoCal outdoor grow. All constructive questions and comments welcome.

Im going to start with the soil and amendments. The soil mix I will use is a variation of Subcool's Supersoil. I will rototill the soil mixture into the clayey soil in my yard and make raised beds (thx for the idea Hodgie). I will also grow some in 20-30 gal pots.

The soil is first mixed and then let to compost since its prety hot. Once composted (1-2 months from mixing), I will load the pots about 1/2 way with supersoil. The next 1/4 above the supersoil will be a mix of supersoil and Gardner & Bloom potting soil. The last 1/4 of the pot will be filled with just G&B potting soil. This approach should ease the roots into the supersoil without burnig.

The Modified supersoil has the folowing ingredients:

hey i use kelloggs to garden bloom directly in my pots no nuteburn good stuff.. checkout my lastyears grow nothing likehodge but they looked healthy ass fuck

16cuft G&B Compost
40 lbs pure worm castings
5 lbs blood meal
5 lbs bone meal
5 lbs bloom bat guano
3 lbs rock phosphate
3/4 c epsom salt
1/2 c sweet lime (dolomite)
1/2 c azomite (trace elements)
2 tblsp powdered humic acid
50 lbs chicken manure (puew!)
5 lbs kelp meal
60 lb bag of pumice rock (instead of perlite

I will post pics of the babies tomorrow.

Here is the group photo. I got home a little late today and the sun went into hiding on me so the pics are a lil dark.

Definately going into flower mode now. The 3 JS are in flower weeks 5 (JS1), 4 (JS2), and 3 (JS3). The CC is about 7-8 feet (with pot) tall now. Most others are about 6-7 feet tall. The JTR is the widest plant. All the WC are tall and bushy. The 2 WC clone bushes are about 4 feet wide and tall. The HJ is a little spindly but starting to tighten up.

Yesterday was water day and today was nute day. I used bloom and grow together. I set the strangth at 1800 ppm with about (little less) 2 tsp of bloom and 1 tsp of grow. Next week I will reduce the 1 tsp of grow to 3/4 tsp etc each week less and less. I will start reversing the ppm down from 1800 toward flush. pH steady at 6.5.

Here is this weeks parade. Enjoy! :bigjoint:

Row 1: JS1, JS 1, WC, CC (big), WC
Row 2: JS 2, HJ, WC, JS 2, JTR
Row 3: CC, JS 2, WC, WC (clone), CC
Row 4; group (CC tallest), JS1, JS 1, JS1, WC (clone)

i think i miteve asked before about ur PPM reader for the nutes but can u fill me in on the details/reason for it GT? im thinkin its to measure the nutes in ppm in the solution so u know how strong the dosage is? but i never invested in one and wondering if i should...

Its kinda a carryover from indoor growing where its a little more important. I use the ppm to gauge how much each increase or decrease in nute dosage affects the growth/flowering. Some strains can take more and some less.

I cant say I have seen any sign of nute burn on any of the plants. Remember the plants are in supersoil (Subcools-modified) so they have a good base to start. I noted some yellowing of the plants and thought I should suppliment the supersoil. I think they could go to a higher ppm but I dont want to push it and they are happy now so why chance it.

I'm sure after I do this a few more times I will not need one except to evaluate nute strength on different strains. It also helps me keep the pH of the nute soln at 6.5.
