How much trouble do they go through to make sure the email is real?
For example, if you search the whitepages in, say, Charlotte, NC, you'll get a bunch of names, addresses, and phone numbers... Plus go on myspace, facebook, etc, to find real email addresses......... anyone see where this is going? How would whoever gets the "email" know that they were legit or not? Would it help the cause? or if people start sending bogus emails with others' names and addresses, would they just stop listening to the emails and hurt the cause?
Anobody knows how this "system" works?

You know, that's actually a very good question. Although intentions may be good in stating your support via e-mail...I too question its worth.
My mother e-mailed a rep (whom she knows personally).......as far as I know, she never did receive a response.

Hehe Greendude.....I'd be more than willing to organize a refute to the general public.......YET, I need the same ammunition here that you and everyone else needs---guts, COURAGE...the WILL to stand up for what you BELIEVE in. :::shrugging my shoulders::: I have NO problem WHATSOEVER--well, I'm kind of weary---LOL.........BUT, nothing stands in the way of Babs standing up for what is RIGHT.
What it will take is for other "locals" to not be paranoid......pfft, f*ck it---I DEFINITELY have NO shame in admitting on a public forum that I am an absolute advocate of MJ. I ASSURE you I am on the same level with going PUBLIC. You can't get arrested for that, you know?

I Emailed my local representative to urge him to consider this bill.Below are the original email and his response. It doesn't seem that he takes it serious but with enough people pushing for this we can make it happen.

First, lets all try to stay on the same political page...this issue runs far deeper than conservative/liberal politics. I mean, what conservative southern republican representative would ever endorse medical legalization of the devil's grass?
And I fail to see how democrats are destroying the country after 6 months in office...especially after the 8 years that led us to our current situation...
But this thread isn't about Republican or Democrat...it's about getting help for people who need it. Put the partisanship aside and support the cause.

You're right Jerry, this is not a partisan thing; they are all a bunch of scumbags. But have you been watching the news lately? The deficit has gone up 400% since BHO took office; people are damn near rioting to be heard by their congressmen and that cunt pelosi calls them Nazis; unemployment is near 20% (counting the ones that are off the rolls cause their benefits have run out); our dollar is on par with the fucking Russian ruble and all the dems can think about is how to get us locked into socialized medicine. I'm not saying that G.W. was any better; he wasn't; I think they should all be hung. It's just that the dems are so rabid to complete their socialist agenda *this term* and that's scary. Our Constitution never allowed this and the scumbags in office are ignoring it and the rights of the citizens. When the damn POTUS tells union thugs to "punch back twice as hard" and "get in their face", we have a huge problem. Word. Both parties have special interests. Things are probably going to continue to get worse before they get better...but I think Barack is doing the best he can with a SHITTY situation. Only time will tell.
And yeah, I remember him being a little more receptive to medicinally legalizing pot than when he scoffed (and laughed) at the question a couple months ago.
Sigh...if only more normal, competent individuals represented the people of this country...

I agree, this isn't about political parties but about what is medically right. We are only offered chemically synthetic drugs to combat different medical ailments where this natural plant can help in many areas.Time for change.
