need help with dwc grow

Just a newb and I probably have no right giving advice lol, but i'm baked and wanted to fool around in the forums for a while..
But I imagine it's all a matter of preference and what your intentions are...
What are ur OP plans?
How big do you want them to grow?
Do you have the wattage & space for 6 6-7' foot plants?
As other posts here will explain, if you make a 6 site rubbermaid you aren't going to get the 6-7 foot plant you would with the 5 Gal's., but have seen alot of 6-site systems that yield a lot depending on if you scrog it, etc.
I think Roseman grows with that kind of a setup i just don't know how to post a link to his pics & journals but they have been helpful to me so far.
And to answer ur other questions I have an idea but I'll leave that for a non-newb & i'm on to another thread anyway.. peace

Yea if your going to grow a few small plants then the bubbleponics way is for you.
But if you want lagre plants like 5ish feet (intotal after flowering) then dwc 5 gallon bucket is for you. But it does depend on what you want.
Some thing you have to consider is:
Time to spend on daily maintenance
Space to grow HxWxD
How much bud you want to grow
How much money to spend on start up
and the list goes on...

Don't get into the mad scientist pumps and feeder tubes with bubbleponics. Keep the bubbles (use several airstones) and lose the tubes. Do a straight DWC diy with a tote. 6 is big, you might start with four plants in an 8 gallon tote. You can get 6 ft plants that way if you have the ceiling for it. 4 or 6 separate buckets seems like a pain to me since youto have to tend that many reservoirs instead of one.
One nice thing about using seperate buckets is your able to experiment with the ph/ppm levels of each, test different nutrients, and zero in on what your plants like.
For cloning I use a 2.5 gallon bucket and keep the bottom of the cuttings about 4" above the water. 4 air stones and lotsa bubbles.

i think the sperate buckets it the best way to go. to grow some bigger plants. i have about a 4x7 grow area but i can only grow 6 plants at a time. so i want to get the most yeild i can out of my girls so that why i was thinking on going hydro. dose any one know what will happen to my plants it the temps get too high in the water? dose it kill them? or just slow downd production like with soil?

I prefer multi site, single res. dwc systems. Less upkeep for me personally. I usually just scrog 4 or 6 plants depending on which lid I use on my res. Keep the water level touching the netpots until roots emerge. Then gradually reduce the level to wherever you want, at least a couple inches under the medium. I like to round my res. capacity up or down to the nearest whole number to simplify the math as well.

Very slow growth rate if your res temp is high.Less oxygen available to the plant.I use a nano-chiller on my res and keep it at 68 degrees.

how much did that coast you? do you think i would get alot better yeild with dwc then soil? will the high heat be way worst in hydro then soil with high heat growing wise?

thanks alot bro! ive seen these ice probs befor but didnt know if they worked good? and you say keep the temp around 68? dose this chiller coast alot of money for u to run? do you also use a heater just incase it gose to low? sorry new to the whole hydro thing.

What's making a res temp get down to 54? Is the room around it that cold? Also, have you see the "Ebb and Grow" system at Discount Hydro? Very expensive but is your setup similar to that?Nope no heater.That is what the controller is 4.

ive seen one of those a my local hydro stor is was bad ass. but was like a grand for a six site. that would be realy cool if i can find a diy on one of those. thanks man.
