Outdoor 2009 Backyard Giants

Wow jealous...How much u expecting to yeild per plant?

I do not know friend. I would like to get 5 to 15 lbs. If they bud like I think they will I think 10 to 15 lbs. The back sides are not as bushy as the front. this might put me around 10 lbs.

That being said these are my first big plants like this. So who knows?

The sunflowers arev a secret that I will notm give up. It has been a life time of work. LOL

There are momouth <--- spelling? They have even bigger ones now called Russian Giants. 15 feet tall with 24 inch flowers. Next year I will grow them if sunflowers give me no problems with bugs. Also next year I will be sealed in from any view from any place. bamboo and Arborvidas. I really do hate sweating over my plants 24/7 Sleeping in the tent is no fun too. And they say outdoor growers just have to water the plants....

I tried Kong Hybrid this year, they were horrible. All of the plants were super weak. They topped out at barely 6 ft, the stalks weren't thick enough to hold them up. I actually had better luck sprouting a handful of seeds out of a birdseed sack. Being in a place where I can only have 1-2 MJ bushes, gotta grow other stuff!

I found Russian Giant seeds at Lowes today, I bought a couple packs for next year already. They were like 88 cents a pack.

These are the first photos of the plants I have. I lost all the first ones to a PC crash.

I attempted to grow some monster trees this year, however mother nature showed me whos boss. The thread in in my signature. But when I look at my growht compared to yours....I feel about 6 inches tall. Your plants are huge and healthy, I am indeed envious. When do you harvest around your area? Does it get cold or wet or what?

This my first year growing this strain. So when to harvest I am not sure. Maybe 8 weeks from today for the 5 G-13's. The short fat one on the left is still in preflower.

I live in The Pac NW so we get a lot of rain. I have a cosco carport I will cover the 3 plants and the potted plants with. The plant by the fence in going to go camando and ruff it out. Unless I can think of something. Being by the fence like I that it is probably best to just let it go rather than making a shelter right on the fence line.

This fan was starting to turn yello so I picked her for my scrap book of leafes. Also my plants are still going crazy. It's been a few days since my last pics in this thread. My plants put on another 6 inches to a foot. even my corn is is out of control.

Stay tuned for updates later today. If you thought they were big wait till you see them now. Just crazy. I even had to LST my corn. Hehe

Well it has been a few days since my last plant pics. As you can see they are still stretching like mad. It has got to stop soon. I never thought I would want a plant to slow down. Anyway here is a some new pics. Oh on the tall plant I tied her over a few days ago. I hated to bend those 3 nice colas over. But for the carport I am going to cover them with would not fit. The last photo shows the tie over.

This girl is fat. Again thats a 20g trash can. I chopped the sunflower for it was to much shade plus the carport thing. Looks like I better move those fake flowers up.
sl738188.jpg

Here I added another lattice board. I also move them up about 4 inches. This plant is a amazon
sl738193.jpg

Here is quick detour over the the potted plants. They are ahead in the flowers. Moving nice.
sl738194.jpg

his side gets the full afternoon sun. It was a mistake to plant the sunflowers so close. This side should feel in nice now. I am 6.3"
sl738197.jpg

This middle plant was choked out on the side. But she has another plan. She has made 12 thick fat colas right up the middle.Makes me feel just a little better for planting them to close. That white formica on the bottom of the plant to my right is a just a test. Trying to see if I can fatten up that branch? Just dinking around is all.

Okay back to the hog.
