just so you know its not the amount of lumens that makes the plant grow its the spectrum.
This is soooo wrong.
Start with a 400w, then hit them with a 600w watch the difference in growth.
If it was all about spectrum, you wouldn't get better results from a 1000w than you do, I dunno, say a fluoro.
The plant wouldn't need trichomes to intensify the light if it was all about spectrum. The plant produces trich's as it needs to intensify the available light to grow adequately... and I'm talking about the sunlight.
Bring a plant beneath the tiny luminosity of a 400w HID and it will not grow as big, nor I believe as potent as a 1000w. The plants may produce trich's to magnify light, and light ages the trich's (therefore cannabinising them)... but trich's I believe will age slower beneath lower light levels, therefore the plant will not need to produce as many during the dark (very low light) hours.
Light intensity, or luminosity is the most important factor, not spectrum.
