I was in 7th grade. Stayed home from school that day. I was laying on the couch watching TV when the breaking news came on. Can't believe i saw the 2nd plane hit... pretty crazy for a 13 year old to see . It was unfortunate that i was living a lie for 3 years afterward thinking "terrorists" did it...

For whoever said " it was a loooong time ago": It still feels like yesterday to me...

I was in the 10th grade. Skipped school to play Counter Strike online. I had the t.v. on. Heard them talking about a plane crash. Then the second plane hit. I don't remember feeling sad. I just felt kinda violated. Like somebody took my blanket. I guess that was my first real experience that showed me how shitty people can be.

Wow, I was just waking up to my mom saying "someone bombed the trade center again" while she got ready for work. I kept watching and saw the second plane hit. Yelled back "planes crashed into it, it wasn't a bomb!" as soon as she walked in the room the first tower fell. We were just both in aw. Jaws dropped kind of thing. It was like "whoa.... whaaaaat the fuuuuuuuuuck...".

I remember at school as soon as kids caught word of who did it, a lot of "arab" looking kids got beat up. Was pretty sad because they had absolutely nothing to do with it but... didn't care back then.

What a fucked day. We really didn't do shit in school but our bitch teacher insisted. The principle came in to talk to her to basically say "bitch we got attacked, shut the fuck up with the work".

i remember that day perfectly,
i was home enjoying my first summer without having to worry about going back to school,

i was 18 at that time i had just graduated hight school,

so i woke up took a piss, came back to my bed to roll a blunt before i showered and ate cereal,

im watching ARTHUR, its some kid show with human/rats lol its a good show when ur high,
well yeah i recieved calls and texts from my mom, dad, sisters, friends,,
i was pissed off about the whole event, extremely tragic,,,,

i ended up smoking half the blunt and eating the cereal, and went back to sleep,
after i woke up from my little nap thats when i realized that this was gonna effect everyone,

i heard in a few places that Seth MacFarlane was supposed to be on one of the planes that crashed in the Trade center,

for those who dont know Seth MacFarlane is the guy who makes family guy,
imagine that, we may have never met peter griffin

I remember there were celebrations and parties because of it though.

I was sitting at my desk at work. One of my coworkers told me that a plane just hit the world trade center and in my mind I immediately thought of a little Cesna hitting it by accident. A few minutes later I walked into our manager's office and saw the footage. I was sick to my stomach. Then the reports about the Pentagon and Pennsylvania came in and I knew in my gut "We're at war".

Crackerjax is right. The grounding of air traffic left everything eerily quiet. I guess you don't realize how much noise they make till they are gone. I also remember how clear the skies were during that time too. The air was pristine, sort of like after a front moves through but more so.

Pretty much my experiences.

I was 13, woke up for school and saw the first tower smoking with reports of "accident at the WTC", then the second plane hit and right away the reporter of whatever station I was watching said "oh wow, it's obviously not an accident now, that we can be sure of".

It's odd to think that people 50 years from now, or a hundred years will look back and we were all actually around to witness it.

I walked around thinking the wars were justified and Bush was doing the right thing going after the people responsible.

Then another war, much bigger and much more expensive broke out, the entire world changed, international animocity towards America was really a shock to me so young. All we were ever told is how great America is, it was hard for me to understand why someone would want to do something like that..

8 years later, I'd submit that we're much worse off than in 2001.
