Everyone is going to have their intelligent moments and their stupid ones, myself included. The beauty of RIU is that we have a section where people can put their less than intelligent thoughts so that people who want to learn don't necessarily have to sift through it on the serious forum sections. you can't dictate intelligence nor can anyone expect to be intelligent all the time.you can if we can keep it all there. but whats with the shit like "1000 bowls"

I can see why some people want to keep the small talk in the oversaturated threads, because their involved in it, i totally would too.
I understand both sides of it, but when you see the same thread on the first page all the time, for a week + you either stay away from it like a plague, or you whip through the 40+ pages created in a day if you can .
But after a long enough time, i agree that it should be booted, as it clogs up the room for some new fresh conversations that might bring in new people (like me).
As for the glass work by FDD, Its not just some shop or store selling, This guy learned a skill from scratch, as we watched and questioned here, and it got so popular that members started to ask if they were for sale, and the guy works here!! So many people asked that he actually had to head to etsy.
I don't intend to trash talk at all, but thats how i saw it unfold the last few weeks or so as a new member, i'm not the core of the family, but at least i'm a cousin.

chiceh, the reason a lot of us don't use the live chat is because it's almost impossible to have a conversation in there most of the day because there are a dozen other conversations happening at the same time.
If the live chat weren't limited to the single channel then it might be more appealing to random chat.
