thanks man! the pictures will keep coming, don't worry. im not really concerned with the MG making the smoke harsh. if it really does, i will kneel down and kiss the feet of Puna. ;-)

I was hoping 4 oz at most. anymore than that, probably not.. but a quarter pound of personals seems like a good deal to me! :bigjoint:
Pnuggle, your plants are 70 to 75% water. So once they dry properly, then you should have roughly about 30% of what you harvest wet!

Oh, by the way. I have smoked harsh weed before. When I first started smoking, Mexican was the weed of choice, and that shit was harsh!

Smoked a lot of nice looking stuff too, that burnt the throat too! 95% of those people's herb used some sort of MG down the grow line. All my cannabis is organic, you'll see it in the way it burns & smokes. My joints never melt into a molton pile of black shit that won't light. That's typical of MG smoke. Light it up and it burns to a hard crisp were the cherry once was? On the other hand, organic smoke burns slowly, smoothly, and the ash is always grey, never black!!!
There are only two or three kinds of people who use MG. Those who can't afford anything better, and basically those who don't know any better(those are the one's who swear by MG):wall: You'll never read Mel Frank or Ed Rosenthal, or DJ Short write or talk about the virtues of "Miracle Grow" in their books on growing cannabis. Shezzz I wonder why?:dunce:

Avoid MG like the plaque!

I grow trees organically,

Puna

I have a question man. My dad pinched off 3 or 4 of the long, 1-fingered leaves you see coming off the sides of the main, biggest cola. They were pretty important in my mind, they were some of the biggest leaves towards the top of the plant. I have a feeling this is going to effect the growth of that cola :-( :-( can you change my mind, please? im seriously.. depressed. what an asshole thing to do. he pinched them off and quick dried them next to a lamp over night. the fucking leaves.
gee Pnuggle, for a guy who says he grown a few seasons you sure ask some real novice questions. But it's good people ask questions, how else can one learn?

Are you talking about the single leaves near the top? If it is, it's nothing to get all worked up about. Cut your old man some slack. Just tell him to ask next time before he put's his "dick skinners" on your plant!

okay puny dick, i said I had a few grows under my belt. I've have indoor soil, indoor hydro, outdoor buckets and pots, and some males that were in ground. This is my first outdoor in-ground female. all of my rant about my dad picking off leaves probably stemmed from the fact that they won't even get him high, and it was a waste of energy. but thank you for the positive feedback on the leaves. I hope it doesn't happen again :-(

Alright, I believe that I am in the last stretch of the growing department. The calyxes are becoming swollen at the top, taking on more of a circular than tear drop shape. the hairs are about 50% red, and are mostly starting to recede into the calyxes. the small leaves at the tops of colas are starting to cup towards the sky, and the plant almost takes on a golden look to it..
also, upon close(without microscoping) observation, I can see a good 10% or more of the trichomes have gotten a longer neck, with bulbous ends on them. The amber/milky color I can't really see, but the plant itself is taking on a gold tint, almost.

There has been a rain spell for well over a week, not constant though. I had enough time last week to let the soil dry out, and apply one last dose of nutrients. now it's been about a week since then, and Im going to count another week, or maybe a little more of this rain, and count it as the flush. I'll take pictures in a week or so whenever this rain lets up, and Ill get your opinions then. But, here they are!

I really need your opinions now, fellas. all input will be greatly appreciated. and repped :eyesmoke:

well, the rain comes off and on, daily. I've been shaking the 2 main branches every morning/after most rains to remove any excess water on the leaves and buds. I want to say the plant has been budding for 4-7 weeks, somewhere in that time frame. What do you think CJ, do I need 1 more boost of nutrients and THEN flush? I really think I want to pump it up one last time.

Oh sure, you have time.

I took a big umbrella (13ft wide), stripped off the cloth and put greenhouse film on it.

Works like a charm and I don't have to lower it. Plenty of sunshine and air flow, but no rain... :peace:

Bro, you are one innovative grower. I love that idea. Unfortunately, the only umbrellas i have are small, from-the-car to-the-door retractable umbrellas. I dont think that by the time I purchase a large beach umbrella and green house film, the rains will still be a problem. But the idea is great! do you have a picture of yours?

Yah, I had one at my other house and my wife wanted a new one and was going to throw it out. It's a huge sucker with a wood frame. I bought it at Sam's for outdoor picnicking.
I looked at it and said, I have a use for it, don't throw it out...

Nice pics Cal!! A bit of N is called for....

Yah, I bought a beach umbrella and it was very cheap. I haven't tried to convert it, but even though it's not as sturdy, I think it can be done. :peace:

Gave my last dose of nutrients today. starting the first day of flushing of the last 2 week stretch of her life. Brings a tear to my eye. I see less than 10% amber trichs, but if needed, I'll flush for an extra 3-7 days. It all depends on how she does this next 2 weeks. Thanks to everyone for their support, after class tomorrow i'll try and take some more pics for you.

I'll be flushing with molasses, 1 tbsp /gallon of water. I give the big girl about a gallon of water for a normal watering. During this flush period, should I increase the amount of water I give her?

Also, there is a constant rain that will hopefully be coming and going only for the next 5 days(it's been around for about 10 days). During this time it gets a little hard to get a good watering, because I like to wait until the soil is dry enough for another watering. Should I make sure to water often, regardless of the rain spurts? For informational purposes, i've only watered twice in the past 10 days, day 1 and today when I gave her her last dose of nutes. I would normally water every day/every other day depending on sun. Thanks!

Usually as a plant is finishing off, it's intake of water lessens. It simply doesn't need that much water, since there is no more growth. Just water her when she wilts.

plants do need water, through they're whole cycle, not watering regularly can lead to mites, other pests, your buds won't get as big, and the trics won't come in as strong. There are a whole host of problems that could arrise as a result of not watering regularly. Not watering your plants a couple of days to a week before harvest is probably a good idea though.
and if you're flushing constant water IS a good thing, of course to bleed all the nutrients out of the plant.

I just watered for the first day of flush :-D

1 gallon of water, 1 tbsp of molasses. and it will remain the same until harvest! does this sound about right?

a week or two that sounds right
If you use molasses it might ruin the "WEED" taste of your buds, they might just taste sweet, which I guess is up to you

Ur going to give her a gallon of water every day for how long????
for 2 weeks! is there something wrong with this?! I normally give her a gallon come watering time. Should I forget about the molasses? I thought I read somewhere that it helped activate the microbes in the soil, which in turn will use the nutrients left in the soil/plant more efficiently, which in turn will result in a cleaner flush?

really? hmm. I would much rather them taste like WEED! i've used molasses every watering for the past 2-3 months, except 1 or 2 times when I ran out. Maybe I should cut out the molasses..
