Misting plants= intensifying light?

I didn't think so either... I just originally was wondering if the water would intensify the light and help in photosynthesis...
imo it does help as long as not using hps...then i think it would burn them...the more light the better though right?...along them lines what do u think that a glass bowl or pan full of water between the lights and the plant would do to light intensity for us floro/cfl growers?could that be a way 2 get more bang for your buck?

I mist the lasses at least once a day. Never had a problem. You want good ventilation, air movement. Also they like pictures of mountains. Blue ones.

mountains eh?...i always heard if you use xxx pics of lesbo action to line your grow room you will get 99% females...is that true also?

I use CFL's and I dont dare getting any water what so ever on the leaves. I keep them as close as possible without burning them as it is. With them as close as they are and water on the leaves burns them up.

However, once I have done this a few times I may pull them away from the lights a little more and try some misting.

are you growing with an hps? For sure your plants will roast if you mist them with your hps on....go read the growfaq if you dont believe me or you can just do a simple search up top for "misting plants".
I don't believe you, because it's not "for sure". Beaded up water should not stay on the plants long enough to burn the plants because your HPS is at a good distance and you have a fan blowing on them. You can "for sure' burn the plants if you are careless, but it's not "for sure" if you are careful.:hump:

Misting and foliar feeding are not bad. This is thread is busted. HotNSexyMILF
wanted to know if the magnifying effect created more photosynthesis. It does not, no magnifying effect creates more energy. However it does focus the energy, which in the case of droplets on leaves, can burn plants. The math is: 6 CO2(gas) + 6 H2O(liquid) + photons → C6H12O6(aqueous) + 6 O2(gas)

Arguing that misting/foliar feeding is a different subject then what HotNSexyMILF was asking about...

Forget maths and forget expensive foliar sprays.
Think plant, think resin, plant thinks hmm wet leavesmoisture, hmm less resin dont need to bother with resin as im already wet every day i will grow some more roots and leaves instead gearing up to make resin.

Enough of the comedy anyway,i know for a fact that plants produce more resin and have tighter buds if you don't ever spray them ever and keep them fairly dry in their medium but not so dry as they are unhealthy.
If you think i am wrong do a side by side grow and find out for yourself:blsmoke:

THANK YOU!!! This is the info I was looking for..

was just wondering because if it did that would be an aid to people using cfls since they aren't as powerful...

I feel like we're on mythbusters...

THIS ONE IS BUSTED..

Thanks everyone for the comments and opinions!!

Yup just like I said earlier we were off topic and that misting does not help with photosynthesis.

YOur vegging plants do not need to be misted...if anything it has the potnetial to do way more warm than good....Higher humidity especially in non hid setups is not good, plus you have an increased risk of doing all sorts of damage, so why the hell do it!!!

....I would like to just say flat out that misting is pretty pointless except for when your misting your clones....

anyways guys theres no hard feelings here just a good argument? Arguing is good and expands our minds as long as you keep them open.

I'm not an experienced grower myself, but I wonder what you all think of misting with a carbonated water solution.

Since the question was whether misting them is better for photosynthesis, I think the idea of adding more CO2 to the mix would be interesting.

Also, I think there would be a difference in "misting" and "spraying." In this I mean that it might be more beneficial to have TINY water droplets (mist) on your plants, rather than larger water droplets (spray). I guess the only way to change that is with different spray bottles, and perhaps the distance at which you spray. Not sure, never tested.

Anyways, I would think this would be MORE beneficial to plants than not (while vegging atleast):
-lightly misting with carbonated water in a ventilated grow area (so the mist doesn't stay on long enough to cause "Burning")

what do yall think?

this is still going on?? my grandpa is an old redneck who used to tell me that "gardening is like anything else, everybody has there own ways. I like mine, they work." what im sayin is mist or dont mist whichever you prefer and feel is the best for your grow.

Sure. Do you know what redneck means?

sorry silk, i suppose to appease everyone that feels the need to pick apart peoples posts rather than try to understand what they are trying to say, i should have said,
"My grandfather is an elderly, country gentleman, who ironicly enough, has a neck the back of which is red in color."
yes i know what a redneck is, i am one, most of the people in the area i live are. just dont take it as a derogatory reference, i didnt say inbred, retarded hillbilly or anything.:blsmoke:

I like your criticism. I would almost say I agree, but you said "this is still going on??". Correct me if I am wrong, but the reason to have a web forum to discuss topics is to learn more from each other. So by adding the second hand account of your grandpa's wisdom; what does this add to this discussion? We are here talking about specific problems and asking others for specific solutions.
You see, I will pick apart your post, but it has nothing to do with rednecks, it's just I want you to understand why we are here.:blsmoke:
