FIMing VS. Topping

Ok so i have been doing a lot of research on this topic and keep gettin mixed reviews so i was wondering what some of your opinions are.

i was wondering which method worked better for all you growers FIMing or Topping, let me know how it worked for you

toppin is the way to go bro trust me i kno from experience fimming is a bitch some times it wont work but topping is full proof

fimming... a lil longer bounce bak then topping but twice as profitale... ur new tops will be tight together so they dont shade each other out....

ur rite.. topping is fool proof... but when u dont fim corectly what happens?? u get 2 tops, same as if u topped... and if u do get it corect?? 4 tops!!! do the math... unless ur toppin for height issuses, its worth fukkin up

I have found that my FIM'd plants rebound in about 4 days or so, the topped plants seemed to be a bit more stressed IMHO.
FIM-n-SCROG.

well i grow in doors so yes i keep topping for height and top twice = four tops. that is math am i rite:mrgreen::joint::peace:

times $.. im not sayin ur way isnt right, and this hobby is what works for urself as an individual, not for me... but u cant top twice in the same day... this is 4 colas in 1 cut... time is $... think if u did a double fim.. ude have 16, less time.. do the math, but what ever works for u... personaly, i top so i can clone... cant o that with fimming

lol dude im not sayin ur wrong bro i kno ur rite but im sayin fimming is not full proof thats all i do believe its his first grow so i think he should take baby steps :mrgreen::eyesmoke::roll:

I've tried both. I tried to FIM 23 different plants - some wound up topped for two colas, some did not take at all, and ONE actually grew four tops. Better than the FIM is this method of topping:

I tried this on my most recent plants, all five of them now have four tops, easy as pie. Here is one of them - just cut it six days ago. You can check out my Trainwreck journal in about ten minutes to see the rest if you like - all clearly have four tops.

yes but that thread and tech is based on a small plant like a clone or a young seedling where the nodes r closer together... u top a small plant and it will do the same but an older plant will have more spaced nodes

i prefer fimming. but it is trickier.. i recently started fimming my clones, this is even trickier as they are growing alternating nodes. but once i found the sweet spot to cut it was all good. topping is much simpler, so its really what ever you want to do

which gives you the best yeild?

i recently had a bad experience with fimming. I have done it before and prefer it to topping. but with two different plants both pk i got no extra tops, the same one just grew back and looks really weird.

"top" it off to the next node down, get 2 normal ones
