Fox News senior vice president Michael Clemente said: "Surprisingly, the White House continues to declare war on a news organization instead of focusing on the critical issues that Americans are concerned about like jobs, health care and two wars. The door remains open and we welcome a discussion about the facts behind the issues."
Observers on both sides of the political aisle questioned the White House's decision to continue waging war on a news organization, saying the move carried significant political risks.
Democratic strategist Donna Brazile said on CNN: "I don't always agree with the White House. And on this one here I would disagree."
David Gergen, who has worked for Democratic and Republican presidents, said: "I totally agree with Donna Brazile." Gergen added that White House officials have "gotten themselves into a fight they don't necessarily want to be in. I don't think it's in their best interest."
"The faster they can get this behind them, the more they can treat Fox like one other organization, the easier they can get back to governing, and then put some people out on Fox," Gergen said on CNN. "I mean, for goodness sakes -- you know, you engage in the debate.
What Americans want is a robust competition of ideas, and they ought to be willing to go out there and mix it up with some strong conservatives on Fox, just as there are strong conservatives on CNN

"This is an administration that's getting very arrogant and slippery in its dealings with people. And if you dare to oppose them, they're going to come hard at you and they're going to cut your legs off.""This is a White House engaging in its own version of the media enemies list. And it's unhelpful for the country and undignified for the president of the United States to so do," Rove added.

Media columnist David Carr of the New York Times warned that the White House war on Fox "may present a genuine problem for Mr. Obama, who took great pains during the campaign to depict himself as being above the fray of over-heated partisan squabbling."
"While there is undoubtedly a visceral thrill in finally setting out after your antagonists, the history of administrations that have successfully taken on the media and won is shorter than this sentence

If this doesn't point the White House Administration in the direction of Socialism, Facism, and Dictatorship, I don't know what does? How many freedoms do we as Americans have to loose to get the Obama lovers to understand where he is trying to take the direction of this beloved country!

Socialism, Fascism, and Dictatorship? Do you know what any of those things mean? Silly question... obviously you don't, or you wouldn't have strung them all together as if they are all related.

I don't see the White House trying "shut down" anyone. Fox News is still on the air, are they not? Speaking out against something is not the same as trying to "shut down" something. Fox News speaks out against the White House all the time, does that mean they're trying to overthrow the government?

You can all have your opinion. Just remember it is YOU that is causing this great country of freedom to be destroyed by allowing others to tell you what to do, how to spend your money, etc. The liberal democrat broadcasters are the ones that said that "they" will tell the people what is important and what they need to know. The reason you even have a problem with the article is because it exposed the White House administration as being cowardly. Liberals can't handle having the truth exposed because they have no standing argument for it. All they can do is sling mud and make personal insults to people.

You all need to read some history books and read some books that actually have an opposing viewpoint to your beloved messianic Obama.

Fox is the only major news outlet looking under rocks for the dirt.... that's why they are attacked.

All of the other outlets have already been brought to heel.

All Hail Socialism!!!

You guys obviously didn't read the whole article either. Fox News and conservative talk radio is the only forum out there that is giving us credible argument and criticism of the liberal agenda. The White House administration is now trying to marginalize Fox News by promoting the idea that it isn't a legitimate news network. I never said they were shutting it down. The article states that the WH is only promoting the liberal national media (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN). The article also questions why the WH admin. won't do interviews, etc. with FOX. FOX has invited WH officials to participate in debate and discussion but the WH is afraid to answer or participate because they can't justify their liberal agenda. Their agenda is strictly to move the country away from capitalism into a governmental system that has been proven by history time and time again to be unsuccessful. The way the White House and it's administration is operating with this PERSONAL attack on one of their own NEWS NETWORKS is facist! They are trying to tell us how to feel, what to think, what is important to us. That's not freedom. That's the way Sadam Hussein and Ahmadenijad operates with Al-Jazeera. I've got to imagine you don't understand the whole idea of the Fairness Doctrine then either since you're argument was the whole "free speech" thing. Read up on the Fairness Doctrine and how it would affect free speech and capitalism and then let's see if you still agree with the democratic liberal agenda!

"Socialist"
"Racist"
"Non- citizen"
"Nazi"
"Islamic sympathizer"
"Terrorist fist jab"
etc. etc.
Good thing that Fox doesnt sling mud ehh?:wall:

ALL things the POTUS has been called on Fox by their commentators (sorry but they ARE NOT news broadcasters)

Gimme a break, they admin. called out Fox for being a tool of the Republican party, they called them out for spreading lies about the Health Care bill and everything else they deem "newsworthy".

They are still on the air aren't they?

Thanks for pretending you know what's going on inside of my brain, even though you don't have the first clue.

"your beloved messianic Obama"? WTF? Who says I support Obama? I never said that. So, because I disagree with you, I must be an Obama supporter? That logic is terribly flawed, for too many reasons to list here.

What truth is being exposed? Fox News are the mud slingers and personal insult makers. Do you watch Hannity? How many times in the past month has he smeared that dude Jennings just for being gay? Every single independent fact-checking organization has refuted Hannity's claims about Jennings, and he STILL refuses to STFU about it and let it go. Why? Because the dude is gay, and Hannity can't stomach the fact that a gay man is part of the Obama administration, period. He continues to play Glenn Beck's six degrees of radical leftism and try to connect Jennings to all sorts of unsavory things that he really has no connection to.

Wanna know what I did last Friday? I went to this:

http://www.joinpatientsfirst.com/?page_id=459

Why? Because I wanted to see what the other side is up to. By the sad number of people who showed up, it seems they are wasting gas and breath and not much else.

On the plus side, I ran into a dude giving out "Mr. Macaca" nametags before the event. Ah, George Allen, bless his cold, black heart. Racial slurs are never funny, even when politicians use them.

Communist governments and dictatorships always try to silence the media.

They're sh*t out of luck as long as we have freedom of the press and freedom of speech in the Country

There is nothing wrong with stating that Fox news is not a legitimate news organization, because they're not. They fully push Rupert Murdoch's and the republican agenda through deceit and misinformation.

You keep going on with your rant dude! You're getting all cranky just because I posted something here that seemed to get your panties in a knot. What I posted was from an article, period. I thought what the article said was good information and needed some attention. So I posted some of the highlights and gave the site to go to so you could read the whole thing. Then you started attacking what I had posted and saying I didn't know what things mean. You're the one who seems to have an issue with people having free speech, stating opinions, etc.

Why do you get so angry about it and attack people? Is it because maybe you see some truth in it somewhere but just can't admit it? I don't get it. And I'm not a big GOP lover or a lover of the liberal ideals. I'm just a regular person. I think big government is the worst thing for the U.S. The govt. pokes their noses into my business too much as it is and they have their hand in my pocket way more than they should. I think we need to get rid of both the Democrats and the Republicans. They are both after the same means, just going about it differently. We need regular people representing us who care about the people and HAVE to worry about where their paycheck is coming from after having served for the government with term limits!

So go take a chill pill. Yes I hate the government we have in the White House right now. It wouldn't bother me one bit if it were destroyed as it stands now. I didn't like the previous administration either.

Seems like you're the one who thinks there has to be sides.

LOL thats a good one...calling out their lies and bullshit isnt trying to silence them...I'll ask again, they are still on the air arent they? Hell, they'll probably get a rating boost from the whole deal.

Its called Free Speech, remember it works both ways; not just when it suits your agenda.

1st, your premis is all wrong. FOX is not a news station. It is a republican talking points memo repeating broadcast station. With contributors like Dick Cheney and Ruish Limbaugh, how could anyone take them serious as a "news" station. Mis-information station would be more appropriate. They don't vett their information but instill terror and lies into the airwaves. Even as they do these things, they are still allowed to broadcast and no-one has mentioned removing them from the air. They've just been called out on their lies. If they constantly attack Obama with lies, why doesn't he have the right to call them out?

The people who conflate Fox's news reporting with Fox's opinion programs must be doing so intentionally. Or, maybe not...

Fox's ratings dominance speaks for itself.

BTW who is it that wants to re establish the fairness doctrine?
