So here I go again, now divorced from that nut case bitch... Anyways my friend and I decided to start a grow together and I provided the funds while he's providing the space.

Defiantly you will want to check out the great pictures I will be posting and there will be plenty to come every week.:!:

I will tell you what I am using in the next post and then move on from there with pictures every week and what kind of issues we might run into and what our PH levels are and the amount of nutes we are using and brand.

Man those are growing fast! Nice job on the set up. Is the Emily garden a ready to go type of setup? Would you buy it again or make your own?

Keep up the great work!

Great questions YardDog!!!
Yes I would totally buy another, it came with everything I needed to get started. I mean everything besides the light. It took my friend and I about 15 mins to setup and we have never used a hydroponic setup. It seems to be very easy unlike what I have read hydro to be. Seriously these suckers have grown so much faster than I have ever seen plants grow in dirt.

I do have to say there is no instruction on how the cloth water wicks are to be placed, although we used common sense and it has seemed to do us well.

As for creating my own, I have been pricing out a set up but I like the shallow depth of this setup and by the time I gather supplies I would have only saved maybe $20 so it's not worth making my own. Plus this is such a sturdy simple setup. Actually I added a air line "T" so I could add another line and bubbler. I like seeing alot of bubbles being created. I guess it goes back to when you were a kid and had a glass with a straw in it!!! lol
Bubbles are just plain fun!

I know for a fact that any of my dirt grows have taken at least 1.5 months to gain this kind of size. Plus the simple 3 part chemical setup is so easy we haven't had any deficiencies to cause stress to the plants. Also like you see the root growth is AMAZING!!!
I have better root growth than the guys who sold me the setup at the hydroponic store!

So I say get out there and buy one and make sure to get the one that is a complete kit.

We have been keeping our PH levels at 5-6 BTW. We use about 1/2 a TBSP for each of the 3 bottles of chemicals it came with per gallon. So if you stick to that regime you should see our results. We are using a 150 watt HPS lamp at around 2 ft from the plants. We could put it closer but choose not to chance heating them up too much. We plan on buying a 400 watt or greater before we start flowing.

I really don't think you need to concern yourself with getting a MH lamp because you really can't make a plant grow any faster than I have seen these babies grow. We are talking from seed, about 1.5 ft in 3-4 weeks. Thats amazing growth!!!
We can't decide to try allowing the growth to go 3 more weeks or let it grow to 3 ft tall each. If we do I know we are gonna have to put them in 5 gal buckets!

Again thank you for the questions and Keep it Simple!

BTW I spent around $90 for the Emilys Garden setup, and around $90 for my light, I think the mylar was $25 or sooooo. So under $300 you can set up a really nice grow and get a great yield I'm sure. I think a bigger lamp would be better though.

:bigjoint:Thanks for the answer SheepsBlood, sounds like money very well spent! I like the whole "plug and play" idea of the set up and your growth rate is amazing. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to updates.

We had a low reading of 4 on the PH scale. This is the result. Since it occurred we are obviously doing our best to reverse the damage as best as possible.

whiterhyno420,

Cool avatar man, it reminded me that I have a gas mask in storage, I'm digging that bitch out tomorrow and rigging it up. It'll make a great party fave.

Sheepsblood,

Looking great! I subscribed, and look forward to it.

+Rep for both.
