Single payer systems are disastrous. Name an example where they have worked. It leads to higher taxes, rationing, and overall poorer care. The doctors would be sectioned off, where you have the good doctors taking money from the rich, and the crappy doctors treating everybody else. It would create an even larger problem than we already have. You have no problem letting the government take money that they have no right to take, and proportioning it as they see fit. The rich already pay a ridiculous amount of taxes, and after a while they would see that it would save themselves more money to just retire, rather then giving money to the government. You feel that somehow you are entitled to other peoples incomes. Everybody has to earn money, and you believe the ones who were successful at that need to provide for those who weren't. Do you know how hard it is to become a doctor? All the money they spend to go through training and schooling? And after all of that, you believe that you have the right to determine how much money they will make. Since when was profit a problem in America? Everybody strives to make profits. Everybody strives to be successful. Grocery stores make profits, clothing stores make profits, electricity companies make profits. When is the government going to step in and say those are rights, and that they are going to confiscate even more money to also provide those services? Your dream of utopia just doesn't work, maybe if you educate yourself a little more on the subject, it would make sense.
