I was looking into the bubbleponics, and they have one that comes with a MUCH better light. Its a 600w balast. I'm new and don't know to much,,, .. Would it be better to get this one with the 600w light

Here is link

its almost 600 bucks tho, the other one is 189, but would those lights be enough on this one

Here is link for cheaper one

They say the light is one of the most important things... So if the one with the 600w light is that much better, could someone explain to me why? Does the better light give higher THC count in end? Better taste, better or denser buds, or does it just speed up the grow time??? I'm going to get my first kit here soon and I want to do it the RIGHT best way.. So any pro's who really know there stuff please let me know... I will reward you with some of what I grow :) when I master it haha.

the real choice is not between CFLS vs HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights. We all know HID is better, or best. The decision is really to VENT THE HEAT or NOT to have the HEAT to start with.

If you can cool the area, vent the heat, and cool the Lights, go with it.

If that is too much trouble, then get the CFLs.

I know I can build it myself for cheaper but I wanted my first grow to be easy and I think I'll get everything I need. After that I'll know enough to do future grows with home depot stuff. my intention is to get my 27 strains out of the ground and keep the seeds. What should I do with the males when they're identified. I don't want to kill them. I want to keep them for the seeds for future grows but I don't want to disturb the root system by moving them too much. I guess I can get a separate part of the room blocked off with 2x4 walls and black plastic and more lights. The system comes with a 1000 watt light which he said didn't need to be adjusted for height. That's a little different than what I've read and saw on youtube where that green guy was adjusting his HPS lights to get the right distance.

Males need to be kept away from females and you can veg them long enough to get some pollen off them for furture breeding project. After they give you the pollen they will die in short order anyway.

hey got the rest of my stuff today, seeds from attitude on the way, but are going to take for ever apparentlly, but ya i had to put a space heater with a thermostat in my room seeing as its a cold winter here, just testing the heat now, but i was wondering if the temperature has to be lower at night, or if i can just keep it at about 70-75F

hmm well any advice on how to get the temp lower on a thermostat space heater, cause im not there everyday, and wont be able to turn down the temp, maybe a timer system, but my room is too cold without the heater, also after i get some plants in there will my humidity go up, cause the space heater is sucken it dry, i know lots of dumb question that have read the answers too at some point, but i just want a good reference, thnks bubble head!

Have you kept your lights on for awile and checked the temp again?

When you get your lights up and going your temps are going to come up and stay up. If it's staying to cold, keep em on 24/7. It all comes down to trying it and keeping records of the temps. Make sure you have a thermometer that records the highs and lows. And make adjustments over the course of a week or so getting it to the optimum temp. And yes 70-75* is a perfect range. I keep mine at around 80* at night and it dips to 70* during the four hour lights off period. You want about a ten degree drop in temp during lights off.

sounds good, by the time your seeds get in you'll have the perfect environment for them.

awsome awsome, yeah i have ran the heater with lights on, although lights make litterally like 1 celcius difference because there cfl, heat and humidity is my largest concern seeing how im using the stealth hydro system, also i have to install a more thorough vernting system with a 80 cfm intake and a 173 cfm outake attached to the diy carbon filter found on this site, and i imagine putting in some real fans will problly lower the temp cause the surrounding air is cold, but should help regulate humidity i hope, i might open up my own topic, but this thread recieves alot of feedback along with the bubble heads being here. i know i could problly answer my own questions, but i would be answering them without expereince

173 cfm fan for exhaust with a carbon filter attached may be kind of small. Those carbon filters take away some cfm's with the resistance they cause.

ya, i realized that, but its only a 4x4x6 room roughly, i seen a few other forums saying that the 171 cfm is enough, i could use a bigger fan, but seeing how it will be fairly close to the plants i dont want windburn

OK then. I tend to overengineer most things. I have a 265 Dayton blower as my exhaust. Grow room is 4x7x7 so I guess figuring cubic footage you're better! LOL!

awsome, ya i firgure it will go down to like 150 for the carbon filter. but i was wondering seeing how we are growing in a similar sized space what kind of lights are you using cause right now i only have the dual spectrum 65 lights, but i intend to get a 100 watt LED ufo, just wondering what yeild is like for you ( dry weight )

I use a 273cfm squirrel cage and it seems to do the job. But you want to evacuate the room every 2 min at the minimum. SDo figure that out then shave it down a bit. Like I am using a 4x6x7 room. Which is 167 cubic feet. I'm exhausting 273cfm and that means every five min I'm exhausting 1365 cfm every five min. which is plenty. At the bare minimum I want to exhaust 167 every two min. But I'm exhausting 334 every two min. so I'm in the clear. get it?

hmmm, well i am faced with another obstical because i can only use 4 in and 5 inch fans cause thats what my duct work fits too, i couldnt picture 150cfm not being enough though, expecially considering my room is almost air tight with poly, i MIGHT post pictures, but im a very paranoid person
