Need Advice -- Stringy Buds

Hello,
For the past few years I have been running this computer-simulation (it's 100% accurate) for marijuana growing.

What's really strange though, is that every time at the end of the simulation the buds are always stringy. I have tried different drying/curing lengths up to 3 months on the cure, and still no changes. Also have tried different fertilizers, soils, places in the virtual yard. No change of results.

I would like to point out that I have noticed all of the different stages in the simulation and am pretty sure I am not executing the harvest code too soon. I tried when the pistils were dying, when they were nice golden brown, and even when they were still white (which I believe is way too early, I just tried it because I have not been able to cure this problem.)

Could it be the strains that are programmed in are mainly sativa or sativa-dominant strains? I plan on finishing up the code for the indica strains this year to try that, but if there are any pieces of advice that you think I could use, I would appreciate it.

I would really like to get this problem worked out.

Grow Info:
Soil medium
Outdoors
Strains:
Silver Haze #9
Skunk x Haze
Snow Ryder (I guess this actually is an Indica-heavy plant?)
Sunny - Humid climate (Based on Florida's weather in the code)
Shulz's Mega Bloom I believe is the fertilizer (I will go back and look in a few minutes and get the specs)
Un-sulfured blackstrap molasses at every watering (1 tbsp per gallon, except last 5, during last grow sim)

If I forgot to mention anything I'm sorry.

Thanks for your time.

That's what I thought, I guess I was just hoping for the stars LOL since it was kind of disappointing :\

I can see a virtual grow if you can't grow physically, but other than that, nothing beats HANDS ON.

if you really want to learn how to grow, you'll need to get ur hands dirty.

Weed is VERY EASY to grow. One of the easiest things to grow on earth.

These umm "virtual" grows have been quite realistic, I even almost feel as though I am actually surrounded by plants while I am doing it. :)

I have found it to be pretty easy so far, it's just I can't help but think I must be doing something wrong, when I my friend brings a bag over he got from somewhere, and it's nice and fat and thick, and then these are fluffy, and stringy. There must be something I'm missing?

That's nice, but you can't smoke virtual buds.....

If it's a ruse to hide ur real grow, ur being a bit paranoid. It's okay to talk freely but in a general sense. no one will track you down for a regular personal grow.

Hmm... the forum I was on before it is a strict rule that you must not incriminate yourself on any posts.

So maybe I was a little bit confusing...

Forget the virtual bs, The past 3 years I've been attempting to do a nice grow, and although I always get some to turn out, it's always airy, stringy, junk weed. It gets me stoned and all but, I like big fat juicy buds that burn yours eyes when you smell them :). Is there a trick to this? I heard molasses is supposed to do that, and this year I watered 3 of my plants with molasses every time, and although it seemed to make them bigger, they still weren't full. I'm gonna take a picture of the buds. BRB

--Heres the pictures:
Here are a few of the Skunk x Haze

Bought:

I don't know if you can tell really from the pictures, but the ones I grew are string (I know ive said it a hundred times now), and when I squeeze them they just flatten out into nothing, and the buds that I buy, I squeeze them and nothing happens. I want mine to be like that.

you say you're using "bloom" to feed the plant, but you should only use "bloom" when the lighting goes 12/12 for the flowering period. during the beginning which is the "veg" cycle, you should be feeding the plant some kind of "grow" fertilizer/nutrients. you should also flush your plant with straight water near the end before you chop em down for harvest.

I should have been more clear, I started using the bloom after they started flowering (it's outdoor grow), and really didn't use anything during veg, except for a little bit of this stuff that a friend gave me (said it was for veg), Ill ask him what it was.

Also watered with 1 tablespoon molasses per gallon of water every time, except the last 5 waterings, during the last grow (2009), but not the first 2.

The pics aren't worth talking about really, neither is the bud, haven't started again this (next - 2010) year yet, am going to order some indica-dominant stuff this year and try that I guess.

P.S.

I know some of it is trimmed poorly, I had a friend helping clean it.

Sorry for the confusion.

EDIT:

It totally slipped my mind but the reason I didn't use much veg nutes is because I used miracle grow 3 month feed potting soil after seedling (it said for foliage, I'm assuming it meant stems/leafs),

the mix was roughly (unmeasured):
20% perlite
10% orchid moss
70% Miracle Grow 3 month feed soil

so is it still about computer weed or real weed man?
I must be too stoned to try and ask this right now.

It was always about real weed, on the other forum I was on (where no one knew shit, which is probably why I'm so in the dark), it was like an immediate ban to incriminate yourself.

Back to the real weed.
Stringy buds... want to know what I'm doing wrong, why they are not dense and full.

I get ya. Miracle Gro is shit that's probably why. You should be using a special "grow" nute for marijuana. Your buds also look VERY dried out. Maybe the were moisture deprived or semi-burnt possibly....

Yes that's a possibility, there was a couple points in a row towards the end where I couldn't get to them on schedule, but there was no noticeable damage to the plant (as far as I could see, someone with more experienced eyes might disagree).

I was trying to avoid buying the nutes online, so I did just assume I could use miracle gro. I guess that was my first mistake? I guess I will go for it this time.

BTW the pics are of Skunk x Haze which was a free gift from, and they actually turned out better than the ones I paid for LOL.

Also, the bloom fert i was using is in the trunk of my car, which I can only open with the push button, and it has no battery in it ( :spew:) so I can't get the exact info on it, but I bought it at Lowe's Garden Center and I recall that the numbers were very close to what was recommended.

How long are you letting them flower? I have the same compliant though, but I usually pick too soon, this time, I'm going to concentrate on letting them go for at least nine weeks, and look for the pistil to recede back in the bud. I'm hoping that giving it that extra couple of weeks I'll get the density you get with commercial bud

Hmm it's actually hard to say, my memory is horrible, but I harvested at different times this year (on different strains though, but I was going by the way the pistil looked).

Some of them I harvested a little early, and I knew they were gonna be stringy but I wanted to smoke some, then some I waited until the pistils turned this nice dark amber color, and it was still stringy, so after that I waited until the damn things started to crumple up and junk, looked like the plant was friggin dying and it was still the same. That's when I came to the conclusion that it must be something I'm doing wrong during (part, or all of) the grow cycle.

I kind of know the guys who grow the weed that everyone buys around here (although they don't know I know they grow it), and I'm so tempted to ask them, but I don't want them to freak out. So I chose not to.

My dad said it's because they vacuum pack the commercial stuff as soon as its harvested, but he said he's never grown any before, so I don't think he's right. It would still be stringy even after it's compressed, (I tried squishing some of the buds down flat and it did make a little difference but nothing to talk about)

i think its your amount of light your using for the plant. i didn't see anywhere, prob because i didn't read the whole thread but the amount of light usage counts on how dense your bud is which i think is what your talking about. the more watage use the denser the bud will be.
edit:
sorry i just read through your thread fully maybe you aren't putting the plant in enough sunlight? i have seen some outside grows and currently have 2 outside as well. you have to have them in full sun place plus it has to be the right time for veg and flowering. thats why i dont like to grow outside i just do it for fun. otherwise i wouldnt have a plant be vegging outside in december lol.
