They all knew me and it was no big deal until one day i go past a gate and on my return there's a cop car with a dog. The reg guard tells me they are conducting searches....and to step away from my vehicle and open the doors.

uhhh sweating time!!! Ashtray had a big fattie in it with probably 20 roaches... Now I was making big money with these ppl so the joint was not gonna kill me, but losing that contract over a joint would've pissed me off something fierce.

The dog makes his rounds with the cop and I'm trying to be cool, and joking with the guy I knew, but man my hair was standing up. Fricking dog!! You don't fool a dog!

Finally the cop comes up to me and says... okay, you can go.

Next delivery the reg told me that was a bomb dog, and they don't cross train them. He knew... but I never smoked again in my vehicle.

You never consented. The coppers held you until they had a search warrant even though they found nothing on the illegal search.

Somebody rolled on you.

When you see the PD, stress to them you did not give consent and the copper entered your home anyway. Do not accept a plea.

take the probation over jail any day.
i had 3 years probation. paid off my fines and restitution in 8 months.
they let me off probation after 1 year.
they just want your money.

I want to pack up and move to a more friendly state, but I can't because I would be pulling my son away from his mom, or leaving him here. Which just isn't right.

To whoever suggested I start a Legal Defense fund, I may have to do just that. If I knew how, it would be set up. I'm doing research on my local public defenders' office, did you know you have to pay a PD now? What kind of shit is that? To make matters worse, I googled the name of my state's elected public defender and this is what I came up with. (Usually, I would never post this much info, but since I've already been busted, and been clean since, I don't see how it could hurt)

Seriously? Public defender promise's to be tough on crime? You've gotta be kidding me. He fired 10 lawyers, several of whom defended a kid who had been beaten by police officers to get a confession.

Best advice I could give is get a lawyer all a pd is good for is trying to get a plea bargain.You could also try and switch your pd if you cant get a lawyer.Florida laws must suck because in P.A. when I had a pd I didn't have to pay shit to them tell them you have no money they have to give you a pd no matter what it sounds like there trying to get money out of you.
I would contribute to your defense fund but im up to my neck in lawyer fees myself these motherfuckers are expensive.
Do you think maybe a family member knows a lawyer that will represent you for free?

Is this a first offence? if this is your first offence you should get by with, fines, and community service, time served, if you plead guilty and ask for leniency.

I was arrested in FL for Felony possesion, and my property was siezed. Just finished the whole process, and had a final court date early this month. I got away with, tme served, and comunity service, and a hefty fine. ($450) and the judge closed the case as non-judicated. Do your self a favor and look up a lawyer on norml.org and contact them for FREE advice. you can expect at 2500$ retainer fee. Your case probably wont go to trial if it is first offence. 2500$ is cheap compared to a public defender that could care less about your case.

It does not matter because Deputy Fife searched your home without your consent. Everything after that is tainted.

Go to NORML and find a NORML approved defense attorney near you. Go see him and tell him your story. Inform him you've got shit for assets, but have supporters who would contribute to a Legal Defense Fund. If he's willing, he'll set it up for you.
