RightONLY if illegal drugs can come with dosage and possible side effects... same as prescription or OTC drugs... that would make for one renown drug dealer
Have you ever heard of MPPP (Desmethylprodine)? Furthermore, have you ever heard of MPTP (or its metabolite MPP+)?
"The drug was first synthesised in 1977 for recreational purposes by a graduate student named Barry Kidston. Kidston had apparently studied a 1947 paper by Albert Ziering.[1] By reversing the ester of the meperidine skeleton, a drug approaching the potency of morphine was produced. However, the intermediate tertiary alcohol is liable to dehydration in acidic conditions if the reaction temperature rises above -30°C, and since Kidston did not realize this and esterified the intermediate with propionic anhydride at room temperature, MPTP was formed as a major impurity."
"The neurotoxin MPTP is converted in the brain into MPP+ by the enzyme MAO-B, causing parkinsonism in primates by killing certain dopamine-producing neurons in the substantia nigra."
Because of one impurity during the synthesis of MPPP, people developed (permanantly) parkinsonism (parkinson's syndrome).
One impurity lead to that.. no one knows what the long term (hell, probably not even the short term) side effects of most of the currently available designer drugs do! It is risky enough (and potentially extremely dangerous) to use small dosages of a substance that no one have ever studied, but to use it in high dosages and get addicted to the substance.. it's just stupid.
