So you only get one rep point to give a month? Or does it scale up like 400 posts 4 reps a month?

Good point on droppin the names I never do that haha...till now ^^
been answered

elite and staff can give negtive rep.
yes mods too.. I guess if everyone is taking the time to use the thread.. then the info should be accurate.. I see a few things I said wrong.. :)

Cowell.....I will honor your wish to not be repped for this thread, but I will rep you somewhere down the road whether you like it or not ;-). I've given some thought to this issue and you are right on. I didn't know about rep when I joined this forum. I learned a great deal from the RIU titans.....Uncle Ben, fdd, potroast, Roseman, etc. I've since gone back and tried to rectify that situation.

This should be a sticky in newbie central.
Cool, if I get rep for helping you out I'll look for it! If the power's that be deem it sticky-able.. then that'd be a cool claim to fame eh? :bigjoint:
I and many others have been helped by the members you've listed just from reading.. so that's a good point.. you don't know how the system works for a bit.. imagine the rep they'd have if guys knew about it right out of the gate?

AGREED, many times i have had to go back to the thread to see whos giving me feedback, and if i should give them back any.

With leaving your name your making it alot easier for people :)

Nice Thread btw :)
ty - one post isn't going to change the way things go.. but it may help get people thinking about their reps more..?

I've pretty much always put my name at the end of reps, and why.
Sometimes you even get a rep back, which is always a great surprise.
that's a great point to note too for guys.. if you rep.. you'll get it back alot of times!

Actually it's the amount of rep you personally have that relates to what you give. Post count is irrelevant.

For every 100 rep points you have you will pass on 1 point in rep.:bigjoint:
that is absolutely right. I said posts.. but it's rep.. you need 100 reps you need before you have an impact on someone's rep points.. thank you for the valuable correction! Rep+

I have 69 rep points

i rep people all the time, so hes saying

if you dont have a 100 rep points or more your rep wont count towards that person?
that's right. People still get your thanks.. and the comment, so it's good that you are leaving it.. That to me is more important than the little green dots..:leaf:

no you can give as many as you want out just not to the same person with in a specific amountof time.

and if you have 100 less post and you give a possitive feedback to someone, it wont count to there rep cuz your too NEW.

He was saying this prevent people from making new accounts and plus repping them selves, if they really want to do that they will have to make 100 accounts LOLOL
You can't rep the same person twice in the same thread.
Also, at my level (175 rep points) I can only give about 10 reps in any 24 hour period. I don't know if that is the same for all rep point levels.
I recently promised rep to all useful posts in Uncle Ben's "Never ending abuse of phosphorous" thread. Took me a week to do it.

I also just learned that myself.. started handing rep out to people and hit my limit. I don't promise rep.. but i appreciate people taking the time to post and correct information as needed.

Hmmm I have 42 rep pts and I can impact his rep. Are your sure it isn't based on post count or a post/rep formula cowell?
I do remember reading it was based on your rep # a long time ago.. for some reason it turned into me remebering it as 100 posts before you could give rep.. but that ain't it either.. maybe one of the mods could point us in the right direction..

I don't profess to know all the in's and outs.. I just thought I had a good handle on it.. :bigjoint:another example of you never stop learning..
I'll see if I can get a pm back from someone in the know and all of us can learn...
