Hi guys. Said I'd drop by

So.. Today I started prepping my outdoor space for this years outdoor grow. (Will get pics ASAP)

Started by clearing off my ground. Gave the soil abit of a turning and put a layer of good ole horse manure on top followed by another layer of topsoil. Aload of roots as the plots sourrounded by Furs bush?

Starting on Easter day, their going under a 125w cfl for a month then going out end of May.

Growing:
1 - Lowryder # 2
5 x KC 36.

Hopefully going to have a good Summer, sure looks it!

Will have pics up tomorow!

:peace:

hey peeps good to see so many devout irish supplying themselves! just browsing through a few pages on this thread and notice alot of people growing the auto flowering strains, i just want to add in my opinion for anyone whos still learning the ropes that there is a vast difference of quality in finished product between f1 seeds and unstabilized auto flowering strains. the stature and short life span of auto's are attractive traits when it comes to pickin beans but from my experience i would highly recommend forkin out for good genetics like mr nice, sensi seeds... if you buy fem seeds from a reputed breeder thats exactly what you get, where as with auto flowers (female) because they are not 100% stabilized you run the risk of getting diff pheno's (some autoflower and some dont) not to mention males and hermies. ive only ever grown 4 or 5 girls at a time in small soil setups so i am by no means an expert and still have alot to learn but i majorly regret wasting time with auto's when there are so many stabilized strains that can be grown to a similar stature and produce ALOT better, weight and quality wise. i just hope anyone who was in the same position as me a few years ago can benefit from that and save themselves the hassle!
on another note your typical headstore in ireland has about a 40-50% profit margin on everything they sell, when it comes to investing on setups alot can be saved buying online. also i know alot of people growing for personal use here are restricted like myself to small unventilated closet/ cupboard grows , misting plants with sparkling water is a great cheap way of supplying well needed co2. sorry for the ranting am high as a kite=) fair play to all the irish growers keep it up!!

Stop putting me off my grow Prodigy :-) I am a first time grower with 5 white dwarf auto fem's growing for 2 weeks under a 600 watt HPS and from the journals i have read on that strain i would be looking for 5 ounces from my plants if thats the case i think autoflowering plants are a very wise choice for me as a novice. Start from the bottom and work your way up im thinking. I will admit i have a bag of mixed seeds and im itching to germinate a few but i wanna see if i am able to get my first grow to harvest first.

haha sorry eire the last thing i want to do is discourage anyone from growing ;) everyone has their preferences thats fair enough and everyone has to do the learning curve im aware, if you know the basics then you should be successful with them autos (just out of curiousiity what were germ rates, and are all female AND autoflowering....?) but when you finish those ladies get some easy strains like northern lights or PPP or sumthin and they will moreor less grow themselves in comparison and give better results!! best of luck with the whte dwarfs and neways!!

I'd say you'll be waiting another week before you'll see what sexes they are..

I'd think about having reflective walls around those plants soon..

Regarding the northern lights... Its a bit hard to tell how much weight you'd get off it.. depends on height, length of vegging, light, nutes, temp, conditions.. etc etc..
But a small indoor grow can get 2 - 4 oz per plant..

any recommendations on a good outdoor strain for our lovely climate?
Well, a few plants spring to mind that have also been mentioned a few pages ago on this thread.. Ranging from Auto-flowering to Dutch passion seed bank..
I've not yet googled it yet, but id say there are quite a few strains that can be grown here, even with our poxie weather.

I have bought this..

Hopefully she'll do well..

I've been reading up about outdoor growing, and what I see of it is, why bring soil to your grow when soil is all around you.. you just need to sort it out with perlite and ferts... providing the ph is right..
I'll be picking a few sites next week and preper will chicken shit pellets from woodies and slow release ferts...
This will be my first outdoor grow so im no expert...
Its just hard trying to find grow spots that no one will see you...
Jes id love a green house in my back garden but the neighbours would see..
