real deep into my generations of orginal cuttings brought to me a year back, so everything has kinda adjusted to its environment nicely. now the cuttings come from this very room where there started and everything over time has seemed to acclimate itself jsut right...now i jsut got to ride these bitches out!!

they look healthy !! i can tell if u had more light they'd bush out for sure!!

i also lowered the top light to like 1-1/2 inch away and she seems too really like thatt alot

Here are my girls on day 2 of 12/12. G13 labs Royal Kush (left) and DNA genetics Lemon Skunk (right)

Almost lost the kush a couple times due to PH issues, but she's pulling through now.

and at day 25.....as you can see the lemon skunk felt it wasn't tall enough (currently at 36"). she is also very slow to flower. The RK is pulling thru like a champ considering the situation.

Both of these are way bigger than I wanted. I hope it doesnt effect my yield too much.
From now on I will be flipping the lights much earlier.

They love it. The lights are close enough and big enough (.5 w per bulb, I think), that the penetration is pretty good. The undercanopy might yield some respectable buds. I'm adding UVB later this week/early next week.

About your plants? Yes, some people actually flower from seed (no veg. time) but the minimum recommended is generally 1-2 weeks. For max yield look at your setup. How big are the pots? Great lights? Strain info?

The rule of thumb dictates anywhere from 2-3 times increase in size from veg to flower. Of course, this is just a really rough estimate. I like to think about double for indica-dominant and triple for sativa dominant--roughly.

Obviously a really short flowering period (as listed on some breeder sites) will dictate smaller increases in size. But, in all honesty, flower at the time you think is right based upon an estimated flowering period while you shoot for a date. I pick when to flower so that I can coordinate strains and corresponding harvest dates. Everyone's different.

In short, yes, they're plenty big enough to flower.

there both bagseeds that i got out of a bag of blueberry weed that did have a couple nugs of purple kush in it.. lol

i dont have the lower kelvin lights yet...
can i start flowering and change the lights in a couple days or shud i just wait untill i have the right lights?

Great question, again. Sounds like you have good bagseed. That might not be all that bad at all. Chemdawg '91 ring a bell? That's the bagseed that yielded OG Kush--the shit that Snoop Dog smokes--for $70 an eighth out in L.A.

To answer your question, light cycle is much more important than spectrum. Put it this way, you can generally force your plants to flower with a light cycle change but a spectrum change alone will not. If you're gonna flower--go ahead and switch them over. Actually, for the most potent buds, you're gonna want predominantly reddish lights with some blueish mixed in. You see, the sun has a potent mix of visible and non-visible spectrums from UVA all the way down to infrared and higher and lower frequency radiations as well. Cannabis plants have adapted to use the spectrums it can for photosynthesis, reflect the ones it cannot, and protect itself from spectrums that cause damage (with THC ). That's why there's the pretty new 430w SonAgro mixed spectrum HPS with blue added in. It's also why people use 5-band LEDs and Metal Halide, and UVB lights, and various flourescent spectrums.

In short, spectrum is very important but you still generally won't flower your plants w/out a light cycle change. A few days w/ blue spectrum only won't make a difference. Flower on!

One thought: Plants don't need too much nitrogen during flowering. I've seen huge yields with all of the lower fan leaves completely yellow. The plant should use up most of it's Nitrogen during flowering (from mainly lower leaves) to allow a higher availability of Phosphorus and Potassium--which are more important for flowering.

Plus, high levels of Nitrogen left in a plant during harvest can contribute to bad taste.

Just a thought.

Nice looking girls...I believe the FoxFarm nute chart calls for a pretty good shot of growbig and no tigerbloom for week 3 of flower...then no more.

Especially if you are flowering for more than 8 weeks I would say they need a little boost...they will still be yellowing, probably before flushing...while the plants will still produce nice buds with a major loss/yellowing they will finish nicer if they stay greener...this one has been difficult for me to master as I tend to under feed
