green bar I know has to do with how often you post... or any type of activity.. I heard the orange bar has something to do with the quality of your posts.. or something like that... Someone told me its a different type of rep system calculated by RIU and there are tons of different things that increase it... There is a top 100 list posted somewhere.. Im sure ur on it.. I just dunno how i am considering I have more points than ppl who have been on this site for years..
Yeah, i'm not sure either. i have more rep/posts/activity than you and i'm ranked like 15 (?) :roll:

If you put your mouse above the Orange bar, or Green bar and let it hover, it will tell you exactly what it is.

Orange bar is Reputation Points. Green is Activity.

I don't know the specifics of the system, so the numbers are made up but maybe this will give you an idea...

So FDD2BLK no doubt has a lot of reputation points (moderators usually have the most)

Every time someone +rep's you they add a certain amount of points to your rep score.

The more REP that someone has, the more points are added to the person that they give +rep to

~~~~~
So for example, lets say me and you have a +rep score of ZERO.
"FDD2BLK" likes your post, and he gives you a +rep for it.
"Iloveherb420yeahhhh" likes MY post and +rep's me, but, he is a relatively new member with a low +rep score. Therefore he doesn't impact my rep score nearly as much as FDD2BLK would.
Now, you have a rep score of 144, and I have a rep score of 3. Hypothetically of course.
~~~~~~

Get it?

As for activity, I'm not 100% sure how that works... Probably has to do with how much you post, how many PM's you send, how much +rep you give, and (maybe) how many different threads you look at or how long your logged in and viewing threads...

Don't sleep while i'm talking to you !:cuss:

I'm so confused. I though the black/red bars were rep. Not the orange.

Edit: never said my orange bar was bigger

its your overall reputation, not just your reps from when people rep you. however im not sure where all these numbers come from exactly, but i know you get rep from posts and giving people rep and all that jive

From another VBulletin forum,,,,,,,,,

Will try to explain what these mean in reference to the picture.

Orange Bar: This is the points you have accumulated so far from joining the site and the level you have got to.
Blue Bar: This is the percentage needed and points before you move up to the next level (max 100)
Green Bar: This is you site usage, u get points for every day you are on the site and your posting etc, this is calculated over a rolling 31 day period and updated daily.

Points are earned for -

days online
friends
messages
album pictures
referrals
new threads
new posts
viewing a thread
uploading
thanking a post ( this is already done automatically when you download a NZB)
voting in polls
pictures in your albums
having a blog etc etc
you can also loose points if a member of staff has to give you a infraction

Just so people know and it is clear apart from the point level which is set at 0.5, the staff have no input including myself how the information is gathered, it is taken from within your own member account and how you use the site and your activity on the site, as listed in start of thread :-)

We should tell RIU we want the blue bar LOL :bigjoint:

I don't know why, but I feel better knowing what they mean now. 3 years on this site and I still learn something new every day.

this question is as open ended as What is the meaning of life?

It's going to be different for everyone, for some its pride that people rep them for giving good advice, others it means they have a cool avatar, some it may mean they ripped a troll apart.
