It means you won't be number one anymore. Don't mess with success. Socialism doesn't trump Capitalism in anything except averaged misery.

Clear?

The decision to cancel sure was looney tunes... I'll say that much.

It's the king of bonehead moves.

Why go after 400 years of clean pure energy.... yah, that's just CRAZY.

Glad we don't depend on you for innovation.

I hear there is energy at the bottom of the ocean think we can get down to it....lot closer then the moon

The big problem with our planet...she's full of gases...and these build up and eventually 'burp' out. Since Methane is a MUCH more potent greenhouse gas, large releases into the atmosphere are inevitable and uncontrollable BY MAN. So that means whatever wool the greenies are trying to pull over your eyes, it's all complete and utter B.S. If the planet wants to goto hell, she will do it, with OR without us. But be careful about wanting to tap into vast Methane Hydrate stores...you might get more than you bargained for.

Not all energy is the same... (really?)

Powering the Earth for 400 years is not a stop gap solution.. It is the ENTIRE solution.

Canceling the Constellation Program was a MORONIC decision.

The Chinese will not be that FOOLISH.

Whats ironic about this thread is CoockooJax is whining that Obama is cutting back NASA (a GOVERNMENT program) funding.

Instead, Obama would spend $6 billion a year for five years to support commercial spacecraft development and pursue new technologies to explore the solar system in what the White House called "a more effective and affordable way." http://asia.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20100311/tbs-obama-space-7318940.html

So Obama is encouraging space flight from the private sector, something CoockooJax SHOULD BE in favor of but instead the idiot bashes Obama over it and cries socialism. Apparently Coockoo is a socialist if it serves his purpose to bash Obama.

CoockooJax? That's harsh. I don't agree on his political position, and he's obviously bias against Obama, but CoockooJax?. I paid my taxes when we were firebombing Iraqi cities and crushing social service. NOW IT'S YOUR TURN. Put your big boy panties on, pay your taxes, and VOTE for someone else in 2013, stop fucking whining, go buy a blunt, call me, roll the fucker (I can't roll for shit), and smoke with my ignorant, don't get it ASS!

That's from the heart people!

And since we are going off on wild tangents...I will now personally attack CrackerJax...

You're dumb! Everybody knows if you're going to equip a two handed sword(Your avatar), you don't use a horned helm. Any nit twit will tell you to use a sightless helm! It has a defense mod of 57,
strength mod of 58, with a modifier range of 12-17. How do you respond to THAT, sir?

Yet you want a govt ran space program instead of one driven by the private sector. Do you even know what you stand for?

I'd say he's a little bit more than cuckoo, he thinks its a good thing that a guy got sentenced to 35 years for 4 ounces of weed
https://www.rollitup.org/politics/311060-texas-man-gets-35-years.html

and any grower that sells his herb for more than $10 an ounce is greedy.
https://www.rollitup.org/medical-marijuana/302427-dea-again-3.html

Every other sentence from him is 'Obama is a socialist' while whining about Obama cutting NASA in favor of private companies. Does he suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder or amnesia? Who knows.

To be fair, CJ will defend himself by saying the man who got 35 years had two prior offenses (which happened about 20 years ago) and he had baggies and a scale within 1,000 feet of a daycare in Texas of all states. He will then go into arguing that the guy was fucking stupid (something no one here disagrees with) and will then go on to say that he deserved what he got.

I don't disagree the man was stupid, possibly even retarted. But retarts don't go to jail, they go to mental institutions. And what will never be mentioned by CJ is that the man only had 3.6 ounces of weed, which totally changes the nature of the sentence according to Texas statutes. He only had over 4 ounces when you count baggies and other stuff.

But in the end, no matter how you try to defend it, 35 years is indefensible for selling weed 3 times, unless you were selling marijuana laced with heroin and meth to baby orphans.

But oh yeah, the moon and stuff. Let's go mine the moon for unlimited energy! Yeah!

so is southernganja right about it being a fusion technology? because if it is we've been on the "verge" of this miracle power source for a long, long time. lol

wonders how much energy would be expended in building a craft that is capable of being lifted into earth orbit, sent to the moon, land, fill with tons of ore, than return to planet earth, and deliver tons of ore back to mother earth. just the fuel to lift the craft off the surface of the moon and return it too earth would equal 90% of gross mass of the vehicle, fully loaded.

southernganja is correct, and your right about being on the verge of it for a very long time. bout 78 years, to be exact.

edit.. partially correct.

energy from h3 is a form of cold fusion. the problem with cold fusion is we cannot generate the intense, controlled and regulated pressure needed for a sustained controllable fusion reaction, without also generating massive amounts of heat. the technology doesnt exist yet.

but since were on the subject, ill quit fucking around and tell you the real reason were not going after h3 anymore.
the same reason we dont run coal in locomotives.....
fusion is so 20th century.
these days its allll about the antimatter.
they built particle accelerators chasing fusion and discovered how to make dark matter in the process.
dark matter converts into energy @ 100% efficiency.
it is the only 100% efficient reaction known to man.
the most powerful thermonuclear detonations ever achieved barely hit the 15% mark.
600 milligrams of U235 was converted to raw energy out of 80 kilograms of U235 over hiroshima in 1945 @ 9% efficiency, producing 6.3 × 1013 joules = 63 TerraJoules of energy.
imagine what 600 milligrams of dark matter converting into energy @ 100% efficiency.

fuck fusion, its a waste of time, gas for the stars, not us....

100% efficiency sounds fishy to me....really? Are you blowing smoke up our asses? And why do 'up the ass' terms happen so frequently in the politics section?
