for sure, i use to get stoned to the bones and hop on the R1... theres nothing better than screaming down the highway at 190 and 10,000 rpm lol... unfortunately that R1 is totaled now though, back tire blew out in a 45mph wheelie and got laid down :wall:

lol funny story about ridin high. ive been smoking weed damn near 20 yrs everything i do im stoned well when i started ridin again about 5 yrs ago, i havent rode since i was about 12 had a old yamaha 125. i figured i better not ride while stoned better safe than sorry ya know gotta be aware out there. I bought my bike off a guy i knew he upgraded to a electraglide. when it was time to get on and relearn i was out there for 15 min couldnt even get movin kept stallin. i felt like a idiot. i got frustrated and figured i give it a shot later. put the bike in the garage and rolled one up since i wasnt gonna be trying for awhile. got nice and stoned in the garage staring at my bike. mad as hell i couldnt even get it to go in first and just putt along, it has been awhile.well once i was stoned i figured you know i can do this man and i do everything high. i decided to give it another shot. needless to say i hopped on and rode off like i never stoped ridin. got to love the weed. guess it settled my nerves and put me at ease. nothing in this world can compare to a nice cruise on the bike with a couple buddys and a bag of weed in the saddlebag. good times

lol man I just don't think anything above 130 is that comfortable, I much prefer the 25-95 range, which goes prettty fast :P

I got pulled over by a cop after doing like 115 in front of him (he was following me I went into a corner and couldnt see his headlights so I rolled on the throttle)

But fuck your tire blew out doing a wheelie wtf, were your tires worn as shit or what?

Yeah man I remember when I first started smoking I couldnt handle my shit... I blew through a red light going real slow, into some construction, ended up going against the traffic (lol driving the wrong way) that was in a car though

Needless to say I didn't toke and drive for a while... Then I started turning into a pothead and like 6 months later I was driving my bike blasted as fuck and loving it!

The summers out here get to like 110 easy, and wearing shorts and a tshirt riding around some curves with that warm air warming your skin feels SOOO nice, like a hair dryer on the ballsack - but natural 8)

Only thing that sucks about a bike in 110F weather is sitting in traffic

Gotta love the kfx's dude.. ive hit numerous trees and rolled the thing over several times... even front flipped down a hill and had the thing tumble end over end at the badlands in Indiana... always starts back up and runs hard the rest of the day, it's a beast! doesn't like deep water though, fouls out plugs and gets in the airbox everytime.. had a 400ex that could go through water all the time, but it couldn't handle the rollevers near as well haha:bigjoint:
They're tuff, that's for sure. I wrecked mine a few times, had a bad come-off with it that busted me up pretty good, broke my back, ko'd me. The only thing wrongs with the quad were a set of bent bars and the key that got broke off in the ignition in the OFF position. I had to hotwire it for the ride back to my truck. Still rode good too.

This is Elvira. Bought her new in '97. She was a beast.
Nice taildragger, man, good looking scoot.

never been that fast, only been up to 170, as my dinosaur would top out at about 145.... but 170 scared the piss out of me :-P.... I'm much more comfortable on a smooth highway with nice sweeping curves in about the 130ish range....

you fuckers make me want to buy another bike like hell:-P

nope, they were metzler m3's with less than one season on them... ran over a piece of metal in the road. was wearing a helmet and riding jacket so i came out without a scratch... did crack the helmet though and was left with some nice aches here and there but didn't need to go to the hospital!

after mine went end over end at badlands it needed a new grab bar because the wreck completely just ripped one side off.. also had to get new handlebars because my legs bent mine upside down.. bent them back and rode the rest of the day though. Had some huge knots on my legs from bending the handlebars upside down.. they felt broken at first, it was painful but luckily i had some nice painkiller back at the truck :leaf:

That R1 rode like a cadillac at 190 haha.. I had a steering stabilizer so that definately helped with all the bumps, kept steering straight as an arrow. I live in the midwest so there are plenty of dead highways around here to just haul ass on. use to switch the ipod to shuffle on my metal playlist, wear it under my helmet, and hit the curves. interstate clovers at 90 were always fun too, keep flying around them until you get dizzy haha

how does the bike run with the pipe gutted completely? I got the gytr pipe i had from yamaha and was scared to take anything out to make it sound better. So i called yamaha and actually talked to some guys in their R&D department about it. The guy told me that the r1 with gytr would get the best power from removing 2 rolls off the packing, so i did exactly that. I was mainly worried about backpressure because i know that comes into play with some bikes. took out 2 rolls from the packing, great powerband and that bike sounded beautiful!

Yeah I know what you mean, what's the weight on the R1? I had a hayabusa doing 145 in a curvy 45... back before I knew what a busa would do :P

My 750 is mad light though, I had it doing like 145 on the freeway and I was drifting left and right like I was floating! I felt like the front end was gunna lift up and the whole thing would roll after a wobble... so that's the last time I brought it up that quick...

I was about to pull a wheelie today down a straight road but at the last second I saw some dumb bitch jaywalking a 3 lane road with a concrete median, I might have ran her over if I brought up the front end, glad I didn't.

well ya u lose a little back pressure but honestly nothing u will notice..first thing i do when i get new pipes is pull at least half the baffle,or just chop the pipe right in half and rivet it back together

Dry weight was just over 380, wet weight was probably just over 450 or so.. just a guess. it was 150 hp stock.. it had a k&n air intake, -1 front sproket, gytr carbon fiber exhaust, power commander, ohlins steering stabilizer, black out led integrated tail light, flushmount blackout side turn signals, blackout windshield, mirror blockoffs.. i'm always forgetting something, it was a lot of money down the drain when it got totaled though :-(
