I hear ya there. I cant even imagine the problems that people run into.Telling someone else about your grow is the biggest mistake U can make!!!

I have not spent any time around these types of plants but I grew up in my moms iris garden. I do not proclaim to be an expert as I have no experience. I just know from what I read in books, websites, pictures, etc.1.)Lack of botanical knowledge.
plants need stuff, ALL PLANTS need stuff. General knowledge of horticulture is often over looked when people dive into this hobby.
2.) Lack of funds-People dont want to break bread and get FUCKED trying to grow a half LB on CFL's, then give up because they only yielded 1/2oz per plant. Then they dont want to listen about CFL's being the partial problem because they got through the grow.
3.) Over feeding, over watering. Should probably be #1 cause, but this is directly related to my #1 pick.
4.) Unreal expectations. It takes time and commitment to really do your thing. People think this shit is just plug and play. And sure, once your system is dialed in and successfull you can leave it alone a lot more. But getting it to that point costs money, takes time and loads of patience.
5.) What works for some doesnt work for all. People read some shit online and try it. They should really be spending their allowance on a MJ book from the bookstore, and READ IT. F-people and their idea's of crazy shit. Some of it does work, do you really want to fail trying it for the first time though? Do it the right way, from square one and get educated before you invest/fail!
Thats my top five
Carry on community, I can dig this thread.

BAM! That's right on! Or as UB would say, You need to learn what makes a plant tick! haha#1 reason- lack of insight... grower doesnt understand plants needs in general..
BTW, If you see this, it is not "normal" lol, a "normal" plant would have green leaves WITHOUT brown spots... lolI have a runt and a couple of leaves with brown spots on some plants. I think thats normal
I don't know where you heard this but that is complete bullshit! #1: I don't even have to look at my plants but once every 4 or so days. Otherwise they grow themselves. #2: The only reason I started growing in the first place is because I got fucking sick of spending $60 on an 8th. So I spent $150 (which I couldn't even buy a half for) and harvested 42g's (there's 28g's in 1 oz, if you didn't know)..... You do the math and tell me if it was worth it for personal.....I do however, hope this works for me. I hope that I can figure this whole thing out. I have heard so many disheartening things such as, "You have to dedicate your life to it," "there is no point in doing it for personal because there is too much time involved"...While all of that makes me cautious, I still want to try. I still want to get help from you guys, and I still want to succeed.
guy who's worried about lighting......
you can also move the plants closer to the lights, lol, ive used old vhs tapes stacked on top of each other to get my plants closer to the light, anything will work though, just be creative.

I'll say right now, the first grow and learning the plant and your grow room and getting everything tuned in PERFECTLY does take some time, money and effort... But after that you already have everything and the grows from then on out are virtually free! On the grow I have going right now I have spent a TOTAL of about $20 (cuz I already have the grow room built and lights ect, ect, ect, from last grow) and I'm guessing I'm gonna harvest betweeb 4-5 oz's..... You tell me if $20 and some of your personal time and efort is worth 4-5 oz's, which would be what, $1,600 bare minimum street prices.
I saved $1,580 GROWING my crop instead of purchasing it...... That's how you have to look at it! PLUSS it's awesome getting to smoke your home grown with friends and them all asking where you got this DAMN fine medical marijuana... Makes a grower feel good!

That was the other question I was going to ask...I was planning on using 6-8 CFL Bulbs...more than likely 26Watt each or something. Im not exactly sure what I should be using for an autoflowering strain...this is one of the reasons i feel im still a good two weeks of research out before i start buying stuff. I really want to get the best deals and make this go perfectly.1 what cfl are you using ?
2 if using tap water better to leave it out 24 hours before using it(if not can use some bottled waters )
what ever the bottle or container of nutri. says to start off with use a bit less and gradually work your way up
3 buy some instuments from local hardware or walmart(hygrometer temp and humidity) ph stick(hydro store) or liquid fish tank ph kit (5 ten bucks@walmart) a ppm meter if you can afford(hydro store)
keep to the basics and everything should be fine! (air circulation& rotation. sufficient water & light, bearable temps and humidity)
4 patients
5 learn to read your plants (uncle ben)
6 grow from there (upgrading & trying new soloutions after round one is complete
You dont think it would get too hot for a rubbermaid setup?you'll want more and better lighting than that, you said youve got 400-500 to invest? your probally not gonna get an oz or more from just a few cfls. with like 8 26w i'd be surprised if you got an oz dry bro, i havent been online lately and dont remember all the details of this thread but have you looked into hps at all? you'll be alot more happy with the results w/an hps setup.
