I would probably still tip just because I know that those drivers don't get paid very well and they use their own vehicles and gas but it would only be like 2$ and than I wouldn't order from them anymore. I usually just go pick up my pizza it's fresh and only wait like 10 mins usually.

lol i know thats well bad, a pizza should take an hour tops :)

I had a pizza a few weeks ago from dominos, was just as late as yours, by time it got to me it was cold and the guy had obviously got to junction and had to break late because the pizza was over one side of the box. I called them up and asked them wtf was up, the apologized and got one out in 20 mins, I just don't know why they couldn't have done that in the first place.

I find it strange how people will bitch and moan about things like this. Understand that shit happens from time to time and unless you're perfect 100% of the time then don't bitch when someone else isn't. If this is typical service then you should already know it's going to take that long and if you don't like it then try a different pizza co. If it's usually there in 30 to 45 minutes then cut'em some slack on this one time. At the one hour mark I would call and make sure they actually had the order and it was indeed coming but beyond that relax.. it's a fuckin' pizza for cryin out loud.

BTW, pizza or anything else food related should be tipped at a minimum of $5 for delivery or 10% of the total bill which ever is greater. When you get a rep as a good tipper then the chances of this sort of thing happening usually goes away. If your address is well known as a shit tipper then there is really not much incentive for the pizza boy to bust ass and get to you quick or move you up in the rotation for faster service.

$3.00 for a $20.00 order may be considered good enough but $5.00 tips or more are what gets that pizza boy to remember you and your address and eventually gets the drivers fighting over who gets to run your order to you. With out asking I get plenty of cheese and crushed peppers with my fresh hot pizza and I get a hearty "thank you Mr. Smith" everytime now. That's why I always over tip in any service situation be it delivery or dine in somewhere else.

YES! Screw the cooks, screw the company, but dont screw the driver. He or she is the heart and soul of america and cant be let down because the usually overweight and anti social chef staff is fagging off as usual. The delivery driver runs the gauntlet of traffic, cops, time apart from hot server girls, and ocasionally sobritety to navigate americas wack roadways. And as the real back bone of the establishment if you tip well the driver can insist on the little extras nextime like plstic silverware and first stop on the route. Not to mention not eating your pepperonis or worse. That money only get pumped back into our economy at the next gas / pitstop at impulse items anyway. Tip anyway and give a finger to bad luck.

There were a few lawsuits because the delivery boys would crash because they sped there asses off under pressure from the boss. It wasn't safe and a few people died. Oh and usually just call back and they will give you a coupon or something like that ask for the manager I got a free XL the other day, just be polite and ask to speak to the manager.

My brother makes good money and yet he's a shitty tipper. I bet he eats more spit and snot and no telling what else because he's a one dollar tipper. Life's too short to screw other people over just for a couple of bucks.

u can make a pizza, and deliver it to someone a few miles away in less than 1.5 hours i dont care how busy u are, if u cant then hire more people. im not gonna tip for shitty service why should i when i dont have 2. As for the drivers, in my town you are lucky to have that job let alone get tips all day, there are NO jobs where i live...

Did you bother to ask them what the hold up was? I think you may have let your anger get in the way of perhaps getting the pizza of your choice comped next time around. And in the event you do get a free pizza be sure to tip the kid that brings it a little better than usual.

Tips are a voluntary practice and are not required no matter how good or bad the service is. It's just that this is what seperates us from the animals. One monkey doesn't tip another monkey just for bringing him a banana, they just throw feces at each other. I guess that's a tip kind of.

I stopped tipping once they started charging a delivery fee. Anyway, it's not the driver's fault it took so long, I say yes.
