APPRECIATION for RIU plus a couple noob q's

thanks to all my riu homies for all the info that they have provided as i have been lurking in the shadows for months contemplating growing my own!!!

i posted pics to see if they help these questions. DWC 10 gal from L&M plus a 250 watt hps and a better pump and airstones.

1. As soon as seed 1 germ'd i put it into the rockwool, netpots, hydroton with a clear keg cup. is this ok, or should i pull the rockwool and put into a DIY humidity dome?

2. How long should i veg for if i'm going from seed and scrog'n it?

3. How many plants do you guys think i should throw into this system? i was thinking 2 but if one of you knuckleheads tell me 3...i'll do it!!!!

4. half of the closet is not being used. Should i put up some sort of divider with reflective material, or will that dark space on the other side be fine?

Please no-one estimate my yield for me...i'm preparing for the worst as to not get my hopes up.

the shot of the lights is just to show, they won't stay that way, just using that huge cfl (lower light) for now, and the 250 is on to keep heat and humidity up.

And yeah, the dog does love to protect that area for some reason...probably heat from the hps lol.

i allow 2 weeks for seedling stage and then grow 6 weeks in veg, then bud 7-8 weeks depending the plant

and what lights are u useing, i use T12 florescence plant lights for seedlings and never need domes over them, then switch it up to a T5 florescence for veg, then bud under a 400 watt HPS

Thanks man. i'm pretty confident on the flowering stage due to all the reading and grow journals i've seen. but i have hieght restrictions that's why i'm attempting a scrog, so even the typical "4weeks" seems like it might be too long, no? should i worry more about the time than the height if i'm growing from seed? thanks again, and sorry for the double question as you've already answered once.

im using just a 42 watt cfl under a hood for now, but i'm also running that 250 hps to keep heat up in thier because i ddn't use a humidity dome, just planted it as soon as it sprouted. i could do more / different cfl's, just cost for some good t5's wasn't in the budget lol. its noting to really worry about what alot of people dont understand is its just a plant, if you give it light ,water, the right nutes, and time it will come out chronic, if vert space is a issue i ahve grown mini plants what only had 5 sets of branches and i toped them yielding a little more than a OZ a plant

and are you running the HPS for veg? i would not do that my self its the wrong color light for veg, in veg they love blue.

anything is worth a try with that hps it will gorw weed plants but im not sure how it will do in veg with the red light iv never tried to just grow under a HPS. but without the HPS the plants will not get enough light from the 1 42 watt CFL, but ANYTHING is worth a try if your trying learn how to grow

i started with 5 seeds and 2 T12 plant lights and it worked, but you got a nice budding light work on some veg lights , id start them but get some T8's or T5's asap

yeah i definitely need to go get some of those, any idea of a good place to order cheap (htg supply) and how many would i need in this small of a set up?

you can buy the T8 fixtures pretty cheep at like home depot or lowes, but the bulbs you will have to find a grow shop in your area for the right spectrum bulbs

cool man, what kind of floro's would you recommend to get the needed lighting of lets say 3 plants, don't ever think i'll go over that anytime soon.

if your doing 3 plants 4 T8 bulbs will be enough for veg and that HPS will bud them out. i do 5 plants under 4 T5 bulbs for veg and bud under my 400 watt HPS.

you got that right!! i wanted to wait and get an mh plus a 400 hps, but i figure i'll screw up somewhere down the line, and learn a thing or 2 so i can wait and try my green thumb with budget i gave myself, but if those floro's are that much better than i'll see how quick i can go grab some. Should i add a couple more cfl's and ditch the hps for now, like i said its primarily for the heat because i put that clear cup over it, but i def don't need it on, and if it helps at all at this stage i'd like to leave it, but if it hurts it……no no no lol.

no problem, my 1st grow was horrible cuz i didnt have enough lights i had plants that were a foot tall with 6 leaves on them it was bad, but i hope i helped
