Stupid question but hey maybe it works....can i get a suntan hanginout with my girls under the hps lights?

Stupid question gets stupid answer. Yes it will slightly tan you, Also if you stare into the bulb itself (try sunglasses if your a wuss) you can see sun flares that were actually captured from the sun. Sun flares are what powers HPS lights.

Hey man u never know , just was thinking of posting up on lawn chair throwing on some shades and sipping on a martini. summers around the and i need a nice base beofre i hit the beach

there is a conclusive study proving a link between high occurances of cancer and exposure to HID lighting... i wish i had a link for you but the source is credible imo... NPR

Reallly???? thats kinda scary i mean we smoke that shit, any way the plants could get some sort of cancers from these lights as well there living orgnaisms afterall>??

I believe the cancer risk comes from the UV emissions from mercury vapor in these lamps. MH lamps get most of their light from mercury emissions ( lots of UV ), where HPS lamps get most of the light from sodium emissions ( which has no UV* ). The glass envelope blocks a lot of UV, but not all. And a wide spectrum of UV can cause tan and cancer.
So HPS, probably not, MH, probably.
Bare mercury vapor flouros are used to disinfect with UV.

* technically, the starter gas contains a small amount of mercury and this does contribute to the emissions of HPS lamps.

Where the hell did you get that "sun-flare" crap?
The planet Earth is composed of material "left-over" from the formation of the sun, everthing on Earth including you and me were once part of the star making process.
However, harvesting solar flares is not a viable proceedure. I would love to see the space shuttle return to Earth full of "captured sun-flares" for the HID industry! LOL

Thank God I always put on SPF 50 before I go into my room, but now as I learned about this sun flares issues I might have to find something stronger then SPF 50.

wow guys u can pretty much get cancer from anything these days , tanning in the sun and tanning beds actually expose u to the risk of cancer aswell

This! Works great. I tried it yesterday cause all this grow light tanning made me feel experimental. Hallogen worked good. Only trade off is I have this wierd lump on one of my balls now. Probably just gonna take a knife to it later. It's probably nothing.
