Spanking Kids

Dogs NEED to be part of the pack. As long as they recognize you as the Alpha... you can't lose.

I don't simply look at them sternly. I use body language as well, but the most effective means is disappointment, and spurning of bodily contact. Meaning I turn my back to them...and they know it. If one dog misbehaves...which is very rare now, I pay attention to the other dogs and keep my back to the misbehaved dog...after I give them "the look"... but it is just as important to not make eye contact after that. Tell them through ur body, and then refuse to recognize them. They will instantly make the connection, because the pack mind is hard wired.

if they don't care....then they don't recognize you as the leader.

Ya I'd have to agree with that. When my sister gets mad she tends to yell at the dog. That just gets him all riled up. I'll just lock him in his pen and keep doing what I'm doing and the dog listens to me just fine. On the other hand, my dad gave him a nice smack to begin with when he was a pup and he's listened to him like he's god ever since.

It's all about setting down pack rules. Once the dog recognizes the behavior as "outside" of the pack desires...they will stop.

I won't ever lay a hand on a human being that hasn't already telegraphed an intent to lay a hand on me.
That being said, a boy scout did grab my sleeve last year as I was walking out of a store..... I cleaned his clock but good. I gave him a quick roundhouse and head locked him till he passed out. F'n boy scouts....touch me will they....lesson learned.
You're a damned hypocrite, you roundhouse kicked and choked out a boyscout before he could say after grabbing your sleeve, "Hey mister, would you like to buy some cookies?!" Kids get excited when they're fundraising sometimes...

Everyone knows that it's the GIRL scouts that sell cookies. What's really going on?
