After a great 1st grow last year im using what I learned and going for a even better result this year. I'm in a new area that took me a couple weeks to find. It has a small pond close by and if that dries up this summer a river is about 10 minute walk. Last year I had to haul water up a mountain and it was a lot of work during the dry summer. I dug holes about two and a half feet wide by almost two feet deep (two so far). I'm using Roots Organics 707 soil and botanicare line to feed. Clones are some train wreck and also other strains when I get them. Going for a bout 6 to 10 plants. I'm hauling in soil one backpack full at a time about a mile so its taking a about 4 trips to fill one hole. I put the first clone in yesterday and planning on just adding them as they are ready. I hope this year will be as good as last!!! :-P

Went to the patch today to take some more soil. Found a little ladybug on the plant. Also a deer was a couple feet away from the plant when I walked in I thought the bastard was eating it but got lucky. I'm hoping to get out one or two more plants to the patch this weekend. I might have to dig smaller hole's its taking four or five backpacks full of soil to fill them up. My closet is filling up fast as well with a couple mother plants so i'm taking some more clones tomorrow night.

Put one more plant in the patch yesterday. I have two so far in the ground and pack in some soil almost every day. Took five clones last night so maybe in a week when they show good roots I can start moving them out there as well. Pics are from today with one of the close water sources and what the opening looks like. Its supposed to rain for a couple days so I'll try to tuff it out and get more holes ready.

Not bad not bad, are you in California? You've gotta be since Oregon and Washington get a shitload of rain 24/7 lol

Nope I'm in Oregon Last year was my first grow and it turned out great. Just had to be careful before harvest to look for mold. Mother nature was perfect lots of sunshine in between rain storms. I'm almost a month ahead of where I was at last year and a better spot. I had to haul water up a mountain all summer it was bitch

Are you taking clones from your mother plants man?

Yeah here is a pick of my setup. In the off season I bought a grow tent $140 and cfl hood $100 and 125 watt veg bulb $40. Friend hooked me up with a couple clones of trainwreck and a mystery strain. I'm glad I did its easy once you get it all setup.

Ok cool so do you have a lot of experience growing trainwreck? I grew some last year and the bud came out decent but not that impressive. I'm going to start seedling within the week and I've been looking for information about growing trainwreck. Any suggestions for this strain, tips, tricks?

This is my first time with trainwreck. The person I got it from said it was easy to grow and so far it has been. It took off from clone compared to the other strain he gave me and noted it is a lot harder to grow then the trainwreck. If ya have any tips let me know i just use roots organics soil and botanicare products to feed the bigger the holes the better. It did me well last year with a mystery strain I got over 3lbs with five plants that started the start of june so i'm sticking with what worked for me last year.

What did you start with last June? Had you already vegged the plants out before June or did you start from seed or clone in June? Over 3lbs with 5 plants is awesome. I'm going to be going with about 6-8 fem'd plants this year. I've got 3 already vegging, waiting on the other seeds. Hope I get something close to what you got. Good luck.

I put the first clone in the ground outside the start of last June and added the 4 others as I got them from a friend. Now I have a grow tent and can get my own clones going ahead of time which has worked great so far. I was happy with my results last year the first one I planted got to over 6 feet and gave me over a pound from that one plant. I'll try to find some pictures from last year and post them.

Here are a few pics of my best plant from last year before and after. I had a blast with my first grow it was very rewarding. I learned a lot and this year I hope will be even better.

Man that's an awesome plant. Did you top that thing multiple times to get that many main colas. Good luck with the trainwreck. I've got some ColeTrain that has Trainwreck in it. TrainWreck is one of the best smokes out there. I think its flowering structure is a bit different than most other plants. Good luck.

That plant was never toped. It was just mother nature at work after the first picture, a lot of packing water up a steep hill and mixing botanicare products. Oh and some Jamaican bat guano when it was really starting work on the flowers.

Nice man...Can't wait to see what your trainwrecks do. Have you heard of trainwreck flowering differently than most other strains? Maybe that's just with Green House Seed's Train Wreck, I'm not sure.

Hey man I'm playing the same soil game having to bring it in one backpack full at a time. I feel for ya, haha. I dug pretty big holes. Not quite as big as yours, but they still need a lot of dirt and a lot of trips. I seriously underestimated how much it would take to fill even a medium sized hole and need almost TWICE as much soil as I originally planned. Rookie mistake I guess.

I'm going with the Botanicare line too. So far the plants are loving it. I'm not sure what the shelf life of the stuff is, but I bought a quart of the grow formula and don't think I'll even come close to using it all. I might just amend the grow with some P during flower to try to use it all up this season. Don't really like being wasteful. Did you use Botanicare last year?
