if i had a 1000 and a 600 i would use ony the 600 as my grow room is a lil small and not the best venting, but if u have a decent sized room and good venting then i would use the 1000. i wouldnt use bother unless i was growing for someone else to i can produce enough to last till next harvests from 1 indoor grow under the 600 also they are the most energy efficient lights to run. and 1 600 can easily grow 6 good plants, and for yeild well that kinda depends on how well you do you know. but on average 1-2 os a plant under a 600. i grew 2 plants under a 600 and got almost a half pound was 1 ounce shy. you can have alot under the 1000. how big is your flower room gonna be and what type of venting will you have. also what strains are they and will u be growing all 6 legal plants.

So my grow space is 11 feet long 5 feet wide and the ceiling is 8 feet tall.... How far does the 600 have to be from the tops? How tall should my plants veg before flowering ? As in tall? Considering I have eight foot ceilings....? Thanks Again

i keep my 600 about 15-18 inches awy from my tops and i dont have an inline fan or a air cooled hood, but i did have a few house fans in theri that kept it cool. i would put yours 20 inches away from the tops then put your back sied of your hand right ove the tops to see if u can feel the heat on your hand if it starts to burn a lil move it up if it doesnt move down till it kinda gets your hand hot but not to hot so pretty much slowly work down. and i veg my plants to about 8-12 inches before flower. plants duoble and triple inflower in the first 2 weeks and with a 600 u want your plants no taller then 3 ft and 3 ft is a tall plant for the 600. i like my plants at about 2 feet tall in the end under my 600

This is a great place and just discovered it. Finding this thread made join this site. I am an oregon resident, and will be getting my card in early june for severe spine injury. I am sop excited to finally belegal.and not have to pay an arm and a leg for my medecine. I have one problem though, due to living space and time constraints make having my own grow impossible for the next few years. This sucks for two reasons, I can't grow my meds and I love to grow and will miss nurturing my girls. How would I go about finding a grower in the state? I am located to salem, and travel frequently to the portland area, as well as south in eugene and lebanon. Everyone seems real cool. Look forward to chatting with everyone.

Medical Marijuana (MOD)
heres a story i just saw on my localnews. thought i would share .

Story Published: May 10, 2010 at 12:43 PM PDT

Billings Police and Fire Departments investigate the scene of a fire bomb that was thrown through the front door of Montana Therapeutics,a medical marijuana store early Monday, May 10, 2010 in Billings, Mont. (AP Photo/Billings Gazette, Billings Gazette)

HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Someone threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of a Billings medical marijuana business early Monday and spray-painted "NOT IN OUR TOWN" on its storefront, the second such act in as many days, authorities said.

The attempted arsons come as the Billings City Council is scheduled to vote Monday night on whether to place a six-month moratorium on new medical marijuana businesses opening in the city.

A rock was used to break the glass of Montana Therapeutics at 4:30 a.m. Monday, and a beer bottle filled with gasoline was lit and thrown inside, Billings police Sgt. Kevin Iffland said. A passer-by reported the fire.

Fire crews quickly put out the small blaze, Deputy Fire Marshal Trevor Schilling said.

A day earlier, at about 5 a.m., surveillance video showed two young men spray-painting "NOT IN OUR TOWN" on the front of Big Sky Patient Care, and then throw a rock through the front door followed by a flaming bottle, Big Sky owner David Couch said.

Nobody was injured in either instance.

Trevor McFarren, co-owner of Montana Therapeutics, said his business provides medical marijuana for about 50 people and has operated since January. Until now, the business has never had a problem, a complaint or even a bad phone call, he said.

McFarren said he believes Monday's council vote has something to do with the timing of the act that he estimated caused $2,500 in damage.

"I'm sure they're trying to fuel the fire about (the vote)," he said. "It's more of an attack on the community than anything."

Couch also said he has not had any complaints about his business since it opened in April. He declined to say how many patients Big Sky has.

"If anything good comes out of this, it will probably be a desire for more education in the general public," he said.

Police have no suspects, Iffland said. Surveillance video may have captured what happened, but the building's owners do not want to release the video to police until they speak to their attorney, Iffland said.

Detectives were investigating whether the acts were done by opponents of medical marijuana businesses ahead of the council's vote or by business rivals, Iffland said.

The medical marijuana trade has boomed in Montana since the Obama administration last year said it would not prosecute medical marijuana cases. More than 4,800 new patients were added to the state's registry in the first three months of this year, according to the state Department of Public Health and Human Services.

As of March 31, the state had some 12,081 patients and about 2,800 registered "caregivers" providing them with medical marijuana. That compares with about 800 registered patients in 2008.

Montana is different from other states in that it has no medical marijuana dispensaries. Instead, each patient is required to designate a caregiver who provides that patient with medical marijuana. Caregivers are usually small operators who are hard to track - about 56 percent registered with the state have only one designated patient. Only 109 of the 2,800 caregivers have 20 or more patients.

The growth has exposed holes in the state medical marijuana law that was passed by ballot initiative in 2004, and the state Legislature is hearing recommendations from law enforcement, cities, schools and the medical marijuana community on changes when it goes back into session in January.

Meanwhile, Montana's cities and towns are testing different ways to deal with commercial growers. Some have banned them from their city limits; others are seeking ways to regulate them like other businesses. Several cities have imposed temporary moratoriums on new businesses, such as the one Billings' leaders are considering, while they figure out a permanent solution.

Billings has issued more than 80 business licenses for medical marijuana stores. The council will decide Monday night whether to put a six-month ban on new stores opening within city limits and whether to close those operating within 1,000 feet of a school or a park.

Councilman Jim Ronquillo said the council is likely to pass the six-month ban, and then another one if a solution has not been found by then.

"We want to kick it back for six months and see if we can cool these issues down," Ronquillo said.

I'm a cali native who moved to Oregon a little over a year ago. I love living here except I think the OMMP is a little strict on who they give a card too. I have an incurable syndrome called Tourettes Syndrome which causes urges for me to flick my eyes left and right, clear my throat and just in general look like a freakin tweaker, and more often than not I get severe headaches and neck pain from moving my eyes around so much, and the worse the pain gets the more I want to tic and the more I tic the worse the pain gets. It kinda sucks...I was diagnosed when I was six and I went through a gauntlet of testing and medications for it, none of which ever worked. If anything, they made it worse and I now have severe anxiety about taking prescription meds.

When I discovered herb in junior high my tics all but stopped, although it was such a fast, dramatic change I barely noticed it myself. It was like a switch just flipped off. When I was around twenty, MMJ in Cali was becoming very popular, so my parents signed me up, and all it took was my medical records from when I was six years old and they gave it to me straight away.

Oregon is a different story. Because all my records are from when I was young, and they have to be recent in Oregon, I would have to go back to the doctor and be re-diagnosed. But the problem is that because I am still medicating regardless of the law, I no longer am having problems with the very symptoms that would qualify me. Apparently in Oregon (I was told this at a clinic) "Tourettes syndrome itself is not a qualifying condition. However, the head, neck or back pain associated with its symptoms would be a qualifying condition, so we would need recent medical records for that."

Long story short, OMMP is a pain in the ass. Sure I am happy to keep medicating without a card, hell I did it most of my life, but it was sure nice to be legal when I was in Cali, and it would sure be nice to be legal now. Plus, then I could legally grow my own. I think the problem is that they actually have a state agency who actually administers the cards, where as in Cali all you need is a note from your doctor and you are legal. Wouldn't it suck to have to go through the state for your anti-depressants or anti-anxiety medication even though your doctor should be the one prescribing them?

Oh, and did you guys hear you can be fired from your job in Oregon for smoking pot even if you are a card holder?

Just saying, I love Oregon, and wouldn't go back to Cali if you put a gun to my head. But at least to me, Oregon doesn't seem all that on board with what is going on with MMJ, at least in contrast to Cali.

That said, dealing with it is totally worth living up here. :)

So how much u think that six plants would produce under just the 1000...?

It could be worse, you could be missing a leg or something really blatantly obvious and yet you'd still have to get that diagnosed, every year in fact as if maybe it could have grown back.

So stupid...

I will be attending the thcf clinic in eugene. I called the mama clinic in portland, and had a very bad experiance with them. The lady I spoke to was very rude, and unhelpful with my questions, I called thcf and spoke to a very pleseant and helpful man. Much better service. Anybody had the same experiance with mama?

About the back pain- it is a common use for mmj. Myself I am young, only 24. I was a good athlete, and had a few scholarship oppurtunities to play d1 ball, until my junior year. Was a football qb and got sacked brutally during a game. Long story short, I ended up shattering 3 lumbar vertabre, and slipping 2 disks. Serious spine trauma. So marijuana is the only thing on earth besides hardcore pain meds that allows me to work and live a semi normal life. I moved to oregon for this reason. God bless the great state of oregon to allow us to treat our pain without potent addicting meds.
