How I do: Get some of those jiffy pellets, or whatever those things are that are like disk's and when you wet them they expand. Get some 'Rootone' rooting hormone, some SuperThrive, and a flowering nutrient. Now in 1 gallon of water mix 3-4 drops of superthrive, about 1/10th strength flowering fert. Mix well. You can take a cutting at ANY TIME YOU WANT TO, It really doesn't matter to be completely honest unless it's quite a ways into flower. Then I might advise against it. But cut a branch off making sure it has at LEAST 1 node. After cutting off plant, cut a 45 degree angle in the bottom of the stem and make a few slits down the stem from about an inch up the stem. COVER, and don't take it easy, COVER the slits in the stem and the 45 degree angle in 'Rootone' and carefully place in jiffy pellet. I usually get the 10 set of jiffy pellets (like $6). So take 9 more cuttings doing the exact same, spray with a little water for moisture, cover with the humidity dome that comes with the set up and put under some 6500K CFL's and leave them be for 2 weeks. I usually get all 10 to root.

I grow hydro and have had issues, but seem to have them solved. I have a cloner that you could make out of a rubbermaid box. It has 17 holes which hold 3 inch net cups. In the bottom of these is some hydroton rock. I use 1 1/2 inch rockwool. My secret is to not soak these but dip them in the water otherwise I get root rot. I make a cutting on the plant just under a leaf set below a node at a 45 degree angle. I cut off the lower leaf set and dip in cloning gel. Sticl the cutting in the rockwool, tear a lil off the edge of the rockwool to stuff in the hole to keep cutting upright and place in net cup. I have a humidity dome that I mist daily. The water does not need to come up to the rooting area. In the water is an air diffuser tube attached to an aquarium pump. I then leave it for 7 days under cool flourescents then transplant to my 6" Rockwool.

Go and buy a book. I suggest: Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible. I also heard that Ed Rosenthal's new book is great but I haven't looked at it yet..

thanks for ur advice iv tried a few times and i do wot you said but they never seem to root i was using rock wool starter cubes that i would soak for half an hour then squeeze of excess water an put the cuttin into
my problem could be that the rockwool is to wet/dry and i usually mist them 4 or 5 times a day but thay always end up turning to mush

I had that problem. I solved it with advice from others to A- cover with humidity dome, B-never squeze rockwool or it cannot hold air, and C- I condition the rockwool and let it dry, then just do a quick dip when inserting a cutting. Also, you only need to mist (1 or 2 sprays from a bottle) 1 - 2 times per day. If your humidity dome has condensation, it doesn't need misted.

Instead of making another new thread, I'd like to borrow some advice from this one. I took my clones on sunday, and they are doing absolutely great, but are outgrowing my 2 inch humidity, obviously. Instead of going out and buying a bigger dome, would I be safe to move their jiffy plugs into a 5 inch soil pot and let them outside?

My grow room is currently in flower and rather full, and I've been seeing mixed results on putting clones straight into 12/12. Ideally, I'd like to get them into the flower room in 2 weeks, because I already have the appearance of a staggered harvest. Some of my plants are building up nicely, some seemed to have stopped once they showed sex, so it looks like my harvest is going to take a while.

Basically, until I can build a veg chamber, am I safe taking my clones outside at week one, then to flower around week 3?

i wouldnt do that cause you can bring pests back into your indoor grow, plus if the clones are still too young the outside can shock them, never put a plant outside untill you harden them off

That was kind of what I thought, I just don't have the space indoors to have things going right quite yet. I've read in a few places that if they go into 12/12 they'll run for about 4 weeks before they bud anyway. Would that be a better option you think?

if they start to bud then you will have to wait for them to start revegging again so itll work but it will slow you down a bit

+rep, appreciate it. This garden is gonna be the death of me. At least they were mostly indica. I was afraid i was gonna have to suffer through an indoor sativa grow.

i do squish my rockwool so it might not have any oxygen an i was mistin like 10 times a day lol!!
