Only till the plants cover it. I just ruff it up with my hands because after watering a ton always floats to the top making a white layer.

thanks man.... I will shoot a video for you the next time I go out and there is decent lighting.... its all overcast here right now, and Im tired and angry... lol.... probably wouldn't make for the best video material.

It differs. As long as I don't get high I put some in the hole before the mix, and some mixed in the soiless mix. So one handful in the hole and 1 huge handful in half a bale of Pro-Mix. That's all that goes in. I just start with it and usually apply once more in the season.

In speaking of mix...I have a little story of luck shining down on me for a change.
I took my mom to the hardware store earlier to help her get some stuff she needs.
One of these things happened to be potting soil. When we walked over to get some I noticed they were just finishing a big ass display of this really nice soilless mix that I bought for her last year for $11 per bag...only THIS year the manager mis-priced the 3 cubic foot bags of premium quality mix at $4.89 per bag!
Between the two of us we bought 24 bags...all we could fit in my blazer.
On the way home my mom looks over at me with this *look* on her face (you know the one), and asks "What exactly do YOU need 12 bags of soil for?" hahahaha
So I'll be digging me some NEL sized holes here shortly! I can't wait!

Yeah the videos are a nice touch man. Those spots are fucking sweet. You really got some balls, my friend. You use promix for your indoors too?
I remember seeing a quote in someone's sig from Dennis Leary, saying marijuana use doesn't lead to hard drugs, it leads to gardening. Gotta love it!
Haha, same deal with me man. I took my mom down wal mart the other day and she was a little confused as to why I have such a sudden interest in horticulture, lol. She ain't stupid, she knows I'm up to no good.

Well I didn't really take her with me to buy soil, haha. I didn't plan on buying anything, but I couldn't let them get away with that mistake! Especially when I'm broke and wanting to grow some shit. I think 12 bags might have been a bit overkill though...
My mom knows what I do...Shes the one who posted my bond a few years back! hahaha I don't do it at her house, so she doesn't say anything.

Yea 12 was probably overkill, i bought one bail of 3cu ft soil like you were talking about. It goes a longggg way. I used less than half of a bail in my soil mix. So from doing the math that less than half a bail filled 15gallons maybe a little more.
