Akgrown I hate birds after having a bunch of friends roll down a mountain in a shithook then having to get on one two days later on a 3700m lz packed to the hilt, we were so full on our exfil that guys had to sit on the floor and every time we would go over a mountain pass you could feel the bird drop down like a roller coaster. That was a fuckin nailbiter, after that experience I was glad to go back to leggin it for a while. I still cringe when I hear shithooks going overhead here in the states and usually end up having to smoke a bowl. I never got to do the chearleader meet and greet but I did get to take John Krakauer up to a mountain OP which was a really cool experience. I don't envy you helicopter crews, at least if a planes engine stalls they can still glide for awhile in a bird your a flying fuckin rock.

I remember hearing about one where the oil in the rotor got messed up (or sandy or something) and one of the rotors got out of time and they started hitting each other at like 10,000 ft and the rotors just blew off and the chopper just dropped like a rock.

Ive worked with a Rescue ambulance i've seen many dead ppl crushed in cars, and watched while they were cut out. ive seen ppl long dead from over does, and ive worked on the dead, and dieing feeling their crushed ribs under my palm while doing CPR on them in a ambulance bouncing around speeding to the hospital. ive seen a "gangster thug" covered in tats, crying like a 4 year old because he got shot in the ass. When i was a kid, i saw a car rollover on the highway, and me and my dad stopped to help. i saw severed and broken limbs, started strapping car parts to them to make splints. and an older lady that was there, didnt make it, she died there in the grass.
On the internet i saw a video called 1guy1jar or something like that. it starts by showing a guys ankles, and a glass jar between them. then he proceeds to squat down on the jar, working it into his ass. just as he just about has the entire jar in his ass, OMFG the jar BREAKS! and blood starts pouring out of his ass, as he quickly starts pulling razor sharp shards of glass out of his ass. and a large puddle of blood below him. i cant imagine, how fucked up he would be after that, and how hes going to have to take a shit from now on. fuck .. . .

I've seen a car wreck before.. a really bad one.
I was at a friends house, and we were shooting fireworks in his front yard and there's this fairly busy two lane road that runs right in front of his front yard. Well, (and this was like 15 years ago too.. but something this violent and seeing it.. it gets embedded into your brain and you'll never forget it)..
anyways, some idiot came flying down the road in one of those older style Chevrolet K5 4x4 2door Blazers (the full size ones, was like an 85 or 87 model).. so they were flying down the street (speed limit is like 30MPH max).. I bet they were doing every bit of 80MPH. Well, dude driving hit the curb with one of his front tires.. and it made the wheel jerk extremely violently.. and I'd imagine it jerked the wheel out of his hands.. but after hitting the curb with one of the front tires on the blazer.. the blazer immediately turned sharply to the left.. and that was all she wrote. Game Over.
I can't remember how many times the blazer flipped.. but it was quite a few. Not to mention how violent the flips were.. my god. But, I had clear view of the whole accident.. and so did my buddy. Well, after the second or third flip.. we seen the hands and arms of the passenger fly out the window (the blazer is still flipping over and over).. and eventually slinging out the passenger like a fucking slingshot. It threw the passenger out.. to about 35 yards away.. and then the driver (blazer is still flipping over and over.. but starting to lose momentum) we seen him get partially ejected, out the back window.. with only his upper body hanging out the back window.. and then the worst thing that could have happened.. happened. The blazer then (on the final roll).. came to a stop.. right on top of the driver. The blazer stopped rolling.. but when it stopped.. it was sitting on its top.. as well as its driver.
It was a pretty nasty accident.. but then again he shouldn't have been going 80MPH through a residential area.. where the speed limit is only 25 or 30 MPH. I don't wish harm on anyone.. no matter what. But, hey, if your going to be stupid.. be prepared to pay the consequinces if something were to go wrong.

Ive seen some horrific shit first hand, I try to block it all out or at least not think about most of it.
Watched a friend on his GSXR get run over by a semi, seen someone get stabbed with a screwdriver in the head, seen 2 people get shot while I was in school.......etc. etc.
None of it good, all of it I wish I didnt see.

I worked asa volunteer EMT in High School and saw some really nasty shit, one accident was realy nasty. The car hit a light pole so hard that the only person wearing their seatbelt was decapitated from it. The drivers head went through the glass, the back passanger survived but was brain dead and the front passanger learned how to fly but his landing was bad. It looked like someone had turned him into hamburger. I quit the job after that accident.
Looking back I have seen some nasty, gory shit in my life. Maybe that is why I am so fucked up.

When I was about 15, me and two other mates were sat across from these flats getting high and this old woman jumped out of her balcony window right in front of us..I had to speak to the police and totally forgot I had half an ounce on me, they didn't take us down to the station or anything though thank fuck.
The noise of that woman hitting the ground still makes me want to be sick to this day.
They don't bother me any more.

It would suck being an EMT akgrown, I have a buddy who works for the fire dept. does the clean ups and stuff on the highway whenever there's an accident, and another friend whose dad used to be the fire chief so he's seen some extreme shit! I remember him telling me about some of the accidents a few times, like how he was casually walking around after an accident and he looks down to see just a human leg.. lol, RANDOM!
What's your guys' take on viewing this kind of stuff? What are the positive and negative aspects that you think it could do to you mentally? I'm sure none of our mothers would support our viewing of this material... Personally I never get any kind of gratification out of seeing it, and to be honest a lot of times I click the 'x' box to avoid the grizzliest of the grizzly, but I think there's definitely something there that one could get value out of. Seeing this stuff is definitely not a waste, makes you stronger. Anybody agree on that point? Just curious...
